for some reason unbeknownst to me, my winamp volume silder also controls the Wave volume on my master console. this means that winamp is pretty much controls the master volume of my comp.

does anyone else have this problem, or know how to unhitch winamp from my wave control? i have ver. 5.33 (x86) with no customizations.

I think it has something to do with the WaveOut output plugin.

awesome, disabling volume control seems to have done the trick. thanks

scratch that. seems disabling completely negates my ability to adjust the volume through winamp. i've set it to my audio card now, instead of the default microsoft thing. seems to be a workable medium for now.
