it is because it is addictive and riskless(there is nothing i hate more than risk[just kidding lo])

anyway it makes me imagine that i am a very great person

I can pretend that i can do INHUMAN things/Maneuvers that i cannot do IRL.

Save the world (as always), Great Discovery, meet cute characters, explore more, defeat teh final boss...Repeat.

i play games to get my characters so strong that all i have to do is use one character on the Final boss or bosses (shadowku) aka TerrorofDeath

I play video games because I get to drive having to go to court for speeding and crashing into objects (racing)

I play video games because I want to save the world at least once in my lifetime (adventure/rpg)

I play video games because I want to beat a certain a**hole into a bloody pulp (fighting)

I play video games because I want to take over the world (City of Villians)

I play video games because I want to become a Pokemon Master (Pokemon)

I play video games because I get to have unlimited fun with my P90s (Shooter)

I play video games because I get to have my very own army under my very own control (Strategy)

I play video games because I also get to play with my friends whether they're near or far (Online/Offline Multiplayer)

And about a bazillion other reasons.

ah, here's the chronology..

-10 years old
buys ps1, such a noob i am, i play only for fun, dont care about the game progress, stress nvr occured evn if i,m stuck at the same lvl for weeks..

-11 and half years old
still play for fun, start playin rpg game, dont care about the char lvl, manage to defeat final boss only after the 30th+ try..

-14 years old
buy ps2, play more seriously, no longer for fun, tried to beat a game as perfect as i can but still stuck with rpg games...

-15 years old
start to play all genre of video games, felt bored sometimes bcoz all the A.I is a joke....

-17 years old
almost lose intrst in game bcoz all the game is beatable, not longer feel thrilled or excitement when play games...

-18 years old
heard of MMORPG and online games, give HALO a try, meet a bucnh of awesome gamers, once again, i experience the thrilled and excitemnt by playing agaisnt other gamer...

unn...now, i play games in order to become the best among the best, as well to compete agaisnt other gamers...

ah, how i love MMORPG and online games..

my general rule of thumb is to play for fun. that's it, pure and simple. but lately, i've been stuck in the vortex of online gaming, and realized that just playing for fun doesnt really work there. playing online means you're playing with a myriad of other people with a multitude of reasons for playing. some are just like me, others play for the sport, and some dont get paid if they dont play. whatever the reason, i inevitably have to bend my own reasons for playing so i can get along with others i'm playing with, which sometimes sucks. if i want to fucking have fun trying to take down that Walker with my pistol, there's always that one teammate who'll be all like "dude, i've got a fracking pilum, i'll take down that Walker". i know he's all totally like thinking in his head "what a dumbass". that bastard.

I play to games for different reasons. It can be to show my skill, have the pride that I beat something or to just have fun. There are probably more, but these are all I can think of atm.

cause the storylines could be good, to see how good i am at the game, the genre of the game, the gameplay, and to see how fast i can beat the game. also i play them when i got no one to hang out with, no work, and no other plans
