Hehehe...my anime origins... we'll leave Speed Racer, Voltron and Transformers aside for now
The first anime I watched...I believe it to be Sailor Moon, back when I was around 8 or 9. It showed at 630 AM during FOX saturday morning cartoons I believe. I didn't know it was anime at the time. I just thought of it as a funny cartoon with those funky eyes that are small at one point, and the ridiculously huge the next. Alas, at that age I was too embarassed to express my liking of that series since it focused on a bunch of girls. Sailor Moon just wasn't cool enough for that elementary school boy crowd.
Then Sailor got moved to UPN at 630. And right after that was...DragonBall Z. Yup, that series got me interested in anime like no other. UPN played the series out up until halfway into the Frieza Saga, and then they just dropped it. Cartoon Network acquired it and history can tell you the rest.
DragonBall was all fun and games but I wanted something more. And then I bought a video in 1999 called Iczelion from ADV films. Used to think that anime was the BOMB diggity. But they never finished it... I soon came to learn that they never completed it. So I had to find something else. It was at that time that I was introduced to two animes: Devil Hunter Yohko and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Suffice to say, after EVA I was hooked on this thing that they call anime. Sorry if that was too long for you... I tend to just keep on writing...

I don't know about you guy/gal but i am just attract to romantic and comedy animes....i start watching anime when i was about 8 or 9 years old and i just can't stop...hehe...
I first started watching anime when I was very young and on UPN they showed Tekkaman Blade (I think they called Technoman). Then they replaced Tekkaman Blade with sailor moon and DBZ and I watched those. I did not know what anime was untill my friend told me though. _________________ ...and in a blink of an eye, it vanished

I was 7 and I loved sailor moon. If that insults any serious fanatics i'm sorry but at 7 those hot sailor girls (and I thought they were hot at 7!) were the things that got me started off. I used to watch them on my way to school in my carpools moms conversion van (w/ a TV in it of course). I grew out of that but by 7th grade I was ready for more. I liked dbz but I never got into it too much. What I did love was Outlaw Star. It was on cartoon network for a while and it touched me more than and other American trash show had ever come close to. I needed more and I couldn’t find anything deep enough for me until my friend in 8th grade showed me appleshare.no-ip.com. Here was a place which served trigun on torrent along with flames of recca, GTO, slam dunk, hunterxhunter (my fav), love hina, bubblegum and a few others. I watched everything. I was so sad when appleshare closed that I dropped anime and left it forgotten. It was a bad move. Then one day during my sophomore year in high school, I did a search for the third ova in hxh. I was still questioning the series end and I was hoping the third ova would be out. I was shut down all until recently on that but in this search I rediscovered anime. I found every feeling I had experienced came rushing back. It was like an anime high. After some time of nogastalgia, I started buying and downloading everything. Its changed my life and i’m proud to say I met my gf (who is hot) in the anime world (something that’s no easy task). I’m not one to go proclaiming my love for anime in the streets but I have gotten myself to admit that I have an anime addiction and truthfully I don’t care. : D
whenever I went to vancouver I'd watch these VCR things of robotech. it was just the first few episodes but man, I loved them.
Then soon on tv up there, I saw DBZ which was mentally scarring.. and then sailor moon which confused me cause all I saw was this evil person in a car with slugs eating away at the pedals then they died.
soon after one of my sisters fell in love with this guy "Tamahome", and soon I found myself watching fushigi yuugi. woohoo

The Sci-Fi channel was where I started... at least that's where I remember seeing my first anime movie. I can't remember what it was called but it had a magic train and a boy and a magic lady. Not the best description but that was like 10+ years ago. Anyway, I recall seeing some other stuff after that but I can't remember what it was.
Around 8th grade I got into dbz like 1 out of every 3 people did. I watched that for a while and in the fall of that same year was when it really took off. I was trying to get the Berserk series off of DC when someone messaged me about my bandwidth. He asked if I wanted to help distribute some anime that him and some people were distributing. By that point I was after whatever anime I could get. He told me to get this program called mIRC and set it up (with his help, of course). I ended up with SysReset and before I knew it I was getting Rockman, Overman King Gainer, Hikaru no Go, and some other stuff. Around that time, I was also finishing Serial Experiments Lain and Hellsing. About a month later I did a google search for anime (or something along those lines) and what did I come across? Anime-source.com. There was no turning back after that.
So thank you Anime-Station and Anime-Source. Without them and you guys I wouldn't have this mad obsession that I have.
The show taht got me into anime was Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf. I still think that show kicks ass and the other 2 sequels, but now i kno that there are other great anime just waitin to be watched
My first animes, must have been sailor moon, and Those Who Hunt Elves, though I mostly like drama/samurai animes....my favorite animes:
1.KGNE
2.Strawberry Eggs
3.Hack//sing,dusk and hack//liminality
4.FMA
5.Onegai Teacher, or maybe Rurouni Kenshin...
