Ive noticed a lot of anime's show different places in Japan. I was wanting to know what the place is that has a huge balcony kind of area that looks over the whole town or is it coincidence that they put that in anime. Feel free to list other landmarks that you notice shown in anime, ie: Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Big Sight... the convention center that looks like it's upside-down

ummmm... I forget what it's called, but it's like a cylander-shaped building that says some 3-digit number like "501" on it

Rainbow Bridge

I think I've only seen that ferris wheel in Odaiba once... the ending of Honey & Clover? NHK ni Youkoso?

does it look like a temple? If it's what I'm thinking, it's called the ~something~ Stage... has a legend that if you jump off it while praying for love, not only will you survive, but your love wish will come true... or something along those lines.

A trip to Kyoto seems to be a standard in most school based anime ... all the temples, castles, castle walls and what not are seen in lotsa anime.

Oh and the stone lions in Okinawa ...
