finally cuaght up again on this series, damn.. gotta say ep19 was soo creepy cool Very Happy

forget what i sed earlier about their digital layer not affecting their physical, i didnt think it could actually have this dark plot cooking when it all began(it all seemed fun and games at the first few eps), i absolutely love this concept!! its just on the same lines as the ideas in 'serial experiments lain', subconscious over conscious and the blurring of reality and the digital but they even went further into openning the gate to the spiritual.

its cool how they relate the symbolism of the torii being the digital path(on the obsolete space), where their digital selves(along with their consciousness/spirit) drifts to.

with the advent of these glasses, is that those sucked into the other side got their spirits trapped in another dimension other than the land of the living and the afterlife(whatever you call the other place). normally there was only 2 ways to go, but the digital layer created a third dimension that entrapped some users. definitely a better thought out plot and more believable concept wise than .hack sign or other.

I've finally caught up with the subs too and episode 19 honestly did get some of the adrenaline pumping. Them illegals are so scary >.<

I'm still a little confused with the Michiko and Kanna incident (lol probs just need to re-watch an ep or 2 to clarify), from what I've been understanding Kanna must of crossed to the other side while her physical self was going crossing the road at the crossing, and then her physical body got hit by a car, and since she is 'dead' she is stuck in the other side with no body to retrun to... is that how it is?

I was so worried about Kyoko, glad they saved her and Densuke to the rescue Very Happy

Can't wait till eppie 20~

yeh it seemed that way kana died on the crossing when she was crossing to the other side, her physical body got hit, but i also think that when the "path to the other side" opened, isako and that other guy had something to do with it a year ago, coz it seems that the path doesnt just open like that, isako mustv done th same "ritual" and opened the path to get her brother out that was stuck 4 years ago but kana just happened to be there and they may as well be responsible for her accident.

and yeh densuke was actually useful this ep Very Happy

its such a cliffhanger, i hope they get ep20 out within the week >_<

Ah yes of course, it makes sense that Kanna's accident is somehow related to the same time Isako opened the door 'the year before' and her brother 4423 must have gotten stuck there over 'other side' the same time Yasako was somehow there when she was little. Then that other 'factor' is that Yasako?

Can only hope that eppie 20 comes out soon Very Happy

Gah~! I hate it when I forget to d/l a series and then I fall behind and forget things.... glad Anon picked this up ... just d/led eppie 21. Dennou Coil is one of those anime you have to watch it consistently to understand and get wats going on ... anyway way ep 21

I can't believe they used Isako as an experiment to test the old spaces and then they're gonna put all the blame on her... and decieved her the entire time about her brother...

Definately need eppie 22 and re-watch the first 20 eps.

wth 26 was out!!

wow this was one of the best series this year.. altho nearing the end was somewhat a bit heavy on the drama music, still that last scene ending was perfection.

Urgh, I'm forced to wait for the Huzzah/Doremi episodes (because my computer doesn't like the Anon subs), so I'm still back on episode 22... I so want to be able to talk about this without seeming behind the times. Laughing

I agree with you, though, tabz. One of the best series this year, without a doubt.

[Edit] I mean the Ureshii subs, not the Huzzah/Doremi subs. That's Bamboo Blade, I'm thinking of...

Eppie 24 ~ made me shed a tear
Especially the part where it finally hits Yasako that Densuke is gone ... I have a soft spot for pets. And the part where she realizes that things you can't touch are real too ... that was really good ^^

Oh and kudos to Daichi kicking them boys' ass Very Happy

But yes Amen to the one of the best series this year Very Happy

edit: and before I forget, since eppie 26 has been subbed I'm gonna move this thread over to the Anime Series Section.

This was a fantastic anime to end the year with.

Actually, this is the only series I've completed this year...

Truly, a most lovely show, brilliant characters and music. I got the OST- you can really tell the composer didn't slack off one bit in any of the songs.

I just finished re-watching Dennou Coil, and it definately makes more sense the second time through and when you watch all the episodes together. Honestly a very brilliant anime and the ending was so well done.

I got all teared up when Densuke showed up to lead Yasako back ... and then when he appeared again just that lil bit again at the end.

One of my favorite series. Truly great. The second half wasn't as . . . I'm not sure, but you can tell the difference between the two. Since the director of the first half didn't direct the rest of the episodes. It didn't flow between the two, but still a truly great series. Can't wait to watch it again when I get the chance
