I honestly believe that anime is getting better. Just look at all the cool new shows that are out. Shows like D Gray-man, Darker Than Black, Kaze No Stigma, and Claymore are all outstanding shows and there are so many more that I like watching. I don't see how anyone could believe that its getting worse.

Nice list, Ms. TrueAncestor. I enjoyed quite a few from your list, and I'm still looking for more of the good oldies to try. I have to say, though, of all the series that I enjoyed form your list, like Devil Lady, Ghost in the Shell, Rahxephon, Saikano, and Excel Saga, recent series like Elfen Lied, Full Metal Panic (2nd Raid), Speed Grapher, and Ouran High seem to be a step above in very many ways. I'm hoping the folks who make Anime just continue to progress and keep bringing us more exciting new stuff. Unfortunately, it seems we've got to wade through lots of newer crap (like Solty Rie, Dears, Ugly and Beautiful, Burst Angel, etc.) to find the good stuff.

Anime-Source does help. If I do start a series and find it stinks, I still finish it so I can give it a very thorough and well-educated "this one really stinks" review to do my part to help out other Anime enthusiasts. I did also find a gem with Speed Grapher, which I started and lost interest in after the first four episodes. I decided to do my "finish it" thing, and found that the plot actually came together very nicely over the long haul, and it had many interesting characters. So, that worked out good.

Maybe I'm just not experienced enough to say (havn't quite hit 100 series yet) but most, if not all my favourite series were made either this year, or in the last few years. I'm very happy with the amount of great weekly shows this year almost to the point its hard to keep up.

Toward the Terra

Lucky Star
Le'Chevalier D'eon
Hellsing OVA
Seto no Hanayome
Seirei no Moribito
Are all just a few examples of good shows made this year that I've watched /watching, and heck, we're only at the halway point!

Maybe I'm too easily satisfied as I don't put down 98% of anime I start watching, but I really do think its getting better. Also, You know what ? I cant wait for whats to come.
