When I was in Junior high my friends and i always used to make gay jokes, it was fun. But then my best friend told me he was gay, I couldn't believe it. SO although i don't mind and all i still crack gay jokes.

I don't have anything against homosexuals. People should be allow to do what they want. One thing that piss me off though is when people bully them, like the government, the church, and other people, they should just leave them allow and let them do what they want.

Just thought I'd weigh in on the subject. This is my opinion: any supposedly straight guy who doesn't want there to be more gay men and thus more single women for him is either gay and in denial or just plain stupid. Of course by that same logic I have to be against lesbians. Sorry, girls.

It's not the extra women that bothers me, as I tend to get along about as well with lesbians and straight girls alike.

It's the fact that those gay men don't just hit on other gay men, they hit on me, and some of 'em are really creepy.

(I have mentioned I was groomed by a pedophile over the internet when I was younger. Fortunately, I was as stubborn and paranoid as I was gullible, so nothing came of it.)

I've only been hit on once by a gay guy, and I've actually hung out with friends at a couple of gay bars. It wasn't at a gay bar when I got hit on, though, it was a student bar in Panama across from a club where some mafiosos hang out. One of them got really drunk and decided to come across the street to try and hit on some Yankees. It wouldn't have bugged me if I wasn't sure he was mafia. It actually took me a sec to catch on after he bought me a couple of drinks. I thought he just wanted to practice his English.

To be sure, some is not all, and if a gay guy doesn't do anything overtly creepy, I can coexist with them just fine.

However, there are five people who have said I'm actually good looking: my parents, one pathological liar, and two gays.

As far as marriage goes, my stance is as follows.

Gays and lesbians have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex, just like everybody else. That's fair and equal. Even straight people don't always get to marry who we want.

As far as I'm concerned, if any religious group doesn't believe people of the same sex should be able to marry, that's fine. They don't have to allow it or recognize it. After all, most religions see marriage as binding two people together under the eyes of God and as a religious institution. However, the idea that the government would make it illegal to marry whomever you want seems like them overstepping their bounds and clearly bringing religion into politics.

The only types of government you can have without religion are tyranny and anarchy.(the former will always rise from the latter, actually.) Anything else requires some sort of morality above and beyond evolutionary progress, which requires religion.

The founding fathers intended "separation of church and state" to keep the government from meddling in the affairs of the church, which is what was happening back in Britain at the time. The United States was founded on Christianity, and many of the Fathers actually said that the moment we stopped basing our choices on Christian teachings, we would fall apart.

Which is exactly what's happened.

I disagree that morality cannot exist without religion. I live by a fairly decent moral code that isn't based on any higher being watching me and caring what I do. I base my morals on the philosophy that if all people try and make the lives of the average person better the world benefits as a whole. Really, my own morality is selfish in a way because all I really want to do is make the reality I have to live in better.

Pedophilia infringes on the rights others not old enough to give consent. Beastophilia I consider cruelty to animals (if they can prove the animal likes it then they can go ahead, though). Necrophilia... I'm gonna leave that one alone.

As for pedophilia, in some present-day countries, humans are considered adult and able to make their own choices as young as the age of 13(that I can verify), and possibly younger. In Romeo and Juliette, Lady Capulet claims that she was married to Juliette's father by age 12, and in earlier days, people of even younger ages were considered legally adult and able to make their own choices.

In short, laws stating children below the age of 18 are off-limits for marriage aren't any different from laws stating members of the same sex can't marry. It's an arbitrary, artificial limitation based on existing convention and has even less religious precedence than the taboo against homosexuality or beastiality. Additionally, unlike members of the same sex, persons who haven't yet experienced puberty will eventually do so, so even the statement that the union can't produce offspring is null.

As far as animals enjoying sex... have you ever seen a cat in heat?
