how many of you here at anime-source actually own import titles, whether it's a pirated copy or a real import?
currently, i own 2: sin & punishment for the N64 and gundam vs Z gundam for the GC, both the actual imports from japan |

ahh...err...
ALL my games back in my country are ALL Pirated ones. Since that's all you can find there. I can also find genuine ones but...they're too expnesive. Only people with lots of $$$ can buy them.
so I have the pleasure of playing Japanese or US titles. And sometimes I compare both the US and JP version of the same title.
I have:
Rockman Dash 2
Rockman 1-6
Macross VFX-2
Rockman X3
Macross: Do you remember love?
Valkyrie Profile
Metal SLUG, Metal SLUG X
GranDoll and many others that I already forgot. _________________

| Well, in my country we don't have a strong industry, so I ALWAYS buy imported games. And even tough the ratings of pirate games are huge, I never bought a pirated game in my life. |

btw guys...I'm sure some of you noticed this. Everytime I get an import game...the difficulty settings are much higher than the US release right? Or maybe is it just me?
since I always compare the US and JP releaes of each game that I can get. Do you agree with this theory? Does it mean they lowered the difficulty for US gamers? _________________

In some cases its true. For me FF X-2 was harder in the japanese version than the american version. Also the international version of FFX was insanely hard(although there was no american version for that)
For others they are about the same level. Other cases such as Devil May Cry 3 the american version was way harder than the japanese version.
Also it depends on which you play first. The one you play first will obvisiously be harder since you don't know what to do while the second one you know everything already. _________________ I don't care if you can make the impossible possible.

uh...no, i'm pretty sure it's the other way around; the japanese DMC3's default difficulty setting is at hard (the american DMC3's easy setting) |

Uh actually the default setting for America was Normal which was actually the Hard setting in Japan. Which means that the japanese's version is way easier as the American's Normal level is equivalent to the japanese's Hard level. _________________ I don't care if you can make the impossible possible.

The only games imported that I've played recently are Naruto GMT 3 and Naruto GMT 4. They're both fighting games. The games themselves aren't that complex or difficult to learn, it's more about timing and the like. The controls are actually quite easy. But it seems to be 100x more fun for Naruto fans, as they take insanely long to get tired of the game. I know that normally American consoles don't support imported games without something else to help. Action Replay, etc. Does your XBox 360 from China support American games normally, or do you need something extra? Also, how much did it cost you, and where could I get one from? =D _________________ "It is not fair for me to be the only innocent one." ~Citan, Xenogears. |

It's probably modded...like always.
but I think Xbox and 360 are impossible to be modded, from what I heard.
I really loved those Modded systems...you'll never have to buy another system to play imports, pirated and any other games. Since it plays it all!
I loved those days^^ _________________
