i agree with simoon and shadwheart, because it seems like some of the people that are voting for Superman havent even watched 5 episodes of DBZ. if you think about it, super saiyan 4 against Superman equals= SSJ4 does an energy blast, super man goes BOOM lol.

Hmm... Superman has his eye lasers but I'm not sure about what thier range is and I guess he could also use his super breath as a range attack as well. Really though... in a fight like this range would just be a bad idea because both are really fast and distance will only create more time for a planned reaction.

Well not only range plays in this battle but location. Where exactly are they going to fight? I'm guessing they have to fight on a abandoned planet of some sort, because if both of them went at it not all out but to what they thought nesscary the earth might be in shambles. Their little bout would trash the earth is all I know. In space..wouldn't work the current Superman can breathe in space however goku can not.
Many times I have heard people using that as a way for Superman to win agianst Goku. To grab him and take him up in space until he passes out due to lack of oxygen. |

Depends actually.
If this is pre-DBZ Goku, then Superman wins hands down. If this was post-DBZ Goku, then Goku wins hands down.
In post DBZ, Goku has the power to rip a hole in time-space (Buu-fight, fusions, etc.) and he could destroy the universe if he wished to.
Superman is only as strong as the Sun's radiation that he absorbs. Goku could just destroy the Sun and wear out Superman, or he could just rip Superman apart (post-DBZ). This is because Superman is only able to strengthen himself to the point of around 9.5 Mohs or so, because he could be hurt by his enemies, who were still human.
Goku, on the other hand, is what we call a Universe-destroyer-class almost-demi-god... Lolz.
ALSO: THE THING ABOUT OXYGEN>>> Goku has instant transmission, so he'll just go to another planet and start shooting planet-destroying blasts at Superman's ki signature. |

| Well, I've never really consider this, since they came from completely different environment settings, both has super evil villains capable of destroying the universe, or multiUniverses. Each has their own special abilities, even though the two has alot of similarities, I can't really say who would win in an official fight, cause that'll never happen. But I'll play my bet on Goku since he came with a tail. |

Honorable Staff member. why if you feel this conflict is silly must you bump the thread?
The thing I got from DBZ was late series characters were only as strong as well, Baby Trunks and Goten were able to go SSJ and lots of silly stuff.
Made me personally feel Late series characters hadn't really GROWN that much. Sure their power level had increased from 400 to 'silly large number' but they were fighting about the same level with their allies and enemies and on the whole on the same level as a 6 year old boy wasn't that much weaker than they were.
But thats sort of DBZ's leg up in the situation. DBZ was far more of a comedy than Superman is. DBZ's got the power inconsistancies.... I mean Buu lost to a Jawbreaker. Why? Cuz it was sorta funny. didn't make SENSE.
Now Superman's got too many writers so he's got power problems too. Sometimes he can haul around planets to rebalance the solar system and sometimes he gets winded fighting weak-ish opponents
Goku's ability to destroy planets and teleport really don't help him here. He doesn't have anything in his arsenal that can scratch Superman.
No Not even a Kamelol wave from SSJ4. with the dragonballs in Goku.
Depending on the writer of course. Sure if Goku was bright he could do something with the dragonballs to make him a decent warrior. but he's not. He never gets an intelligence upgrade, and despite having 2 children, he still acts naive when it comes to sexy time.
Which is why he won't win. Just cuz he wins in the series where he is the hero don't mean much. If he manages to piss off Superman, Superman would defeat him.
Most likely Superman would tolerate Goku though, Supes not a pugalistic sort Now if Goku was out of character and blowing up planets or something, yeah Supes would take him out.
Blowing up planets is silly though. Early series Picollo with power level under 400 could blow up a planet, didn't help in fights. EVER. maybe it could, but the fighters are too stupid to figure out how.
Anime characters get a LARGE boost in damage V rocks and other stuff just minding its own buisness. Vs a organic target however like Superman, they do barely any damage.
Basically Villians in DBZ fight till they get bored and commit suicide.
but yeah, in short. Goku can't hurt Superman without kryptonite. So .....yeah.
Goku does have fanboyism on his side though. hence people voted for him. Go Fanboyism.[/quote] |
