My art is deviating from anime and manga style. I'm getting more serious into art these days, so i'm trying to build a fundamental understanding of people, and then simplify it in my own way. Then, it will truly become my own personal style of manga art or w/e you want to call it. Anybody else who wants to follow this route should take a nice detour into the library and look into "anatomy" and Michelangelo.

I really like Tetsuya Normura's artwork, (the guy who did FF7,8, and X characters, and the guy who created Kingdom Hearts). It sort of got me into it. It's so unique, and it is anime-ish and real life-ish at the same time. Thats what I am aiming for right now, except with my own take on things of course.

I might use this page as a place to dump work for criticism. Although these forums tend to not "criticize", at least i actually have a CHANCE of getting feedback here("harsher" forums just ignore me because most people would feel bad for verbally butchering me i guess.)>_>

Besides, it was a-source's fanart contests that they held a long time ago that got me into art in the first place xD

Somehow, your art looks simple and yet complicated. Dun know how to elaborate....This is definetly not your full potential!!!

Faces are mostly hidden except the all in one picture.

You should do more close up pictures or post some if you already done before so i can have a better look.. :p

But, no offense the last picture was horrible...SORRY!!
But with practice, you will be pro sooner or later. I am no expert myself in photoshop....sigh.....

i feel that drawing with references DOES help if you do it while conscious of certain aspects of what you are drawing, and not just draw.
