i dont think ps1 games were all that advanced, encryption wise. have you tried just straight up copying the disc? it worked with a lot of my dreamcast games. _________________

If you have a mod-chip installed on the PS2, yes. Otherwise, no.
For the Dreamcast games, you can't really copy them right off the bat, as far as I remember. You'd hafta hook the Dreamcast console up to the computer, run a program, let the game run in the console as the computer copy the contents, and let the software do the work turning it into an iso. This process takes about 24 hours or so, depending on the game. A small audio track is inserted in there so that the copy CD would auto-boot.
As for the PSX games, you can copy them into iso right off the bat. But your console has to read the first contents of CD to verify that it is a PSX game you inserted before doing anything else. People would swap CDs from original to the copy with some help of a mod-chip. Newer mod-chips would bypass the verification procedure automatically.
note: In burning PSX isos in Nero, I remember you hafta disable some kind of settings. I forgot which... |

| That's definitely a yes. You can use Alcohol 120% to convert your original to image files. There are other programs out there that'll let you do it. That one just came to mind. |

You may want to try ISO Recorder, which you can download in the link below.

You can download magiciso to make iso file of ps1 game. It is a quite good iso creator.
