I'm just curious as to what anime songs are recommended. Most of the time OSTs have a couple good songs and a whole lot of not so good ones.

A couple of the ones I like are:

D.C. Da Capo music video song: (don't know the title)
Ajimu: Orange
Groove Adventure Rave: Butterfly Kiss
Blue Seed: Matsuri Uta
Matanei Loki Ragnarok: A Fickle Girl
Please Save My Earth: (Ending song, don't know title)

Can't think of any others right now.......

I would recommend stuff by

Yuki Kajiura (Noir, .hack//SIGN)
Yuko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne)

Kare Kano OST (nice music... on the classical side)
Hellsing OST (i like it)
Full Moon wo Sagashite (if you have seen the series you'll probably like the songs she sings)
Gundam SEED OSTs (I like a lot of the songs in Gundam SEED, would be a personal preference)

those are the ones I can think of for now.

any anime music dealing with final fantasy, suikoden, and so on.

Do you guys really listen to the whole OST? Most of the time I only like one or two songs and have to find a way to get rid of the rest.

Then again, maybe it's just me.......

Don't understand a word of any of it but a couple more I like are:

(Anime)
Gundam Wing: White Reflection (I think?)
Da Capo: Honto no Kimochi
Tales of Eternia: Sora ni Kakeru Hashi
Full Moon wo Sagashite: Eternal Snow (regular and piano version, should check the other songs too some time.......)

(Chinese)
A Herbalist Affair: opening song by Andy Hui and Flora Chan
Dragon Love: opening song

(Games)
TalesWeaver: Second Run
TalesWeaver: Ocarina (Short but cute)

Hmmm.....think that's it for now.

That's true, usually what I hear is the background music for the anime series, it's nice though to have it because you can remember the scenes and such, but the Soundtracks that I would recommend are:
Angelic Layer
Gundam Seed
Full Moon wo Sagashite
Spiral

most of the songs from anime that i like are the OP or ED or remixed versions (ie Let Me Be With You New Step Mix - Chobits), but i grab the soundtracks anyway because they usually end up having some nice songs i didnt notice in the show.

my favorite OP/ED at the moment are:
All One Piece OP/ED except We Are (first OP)
All Gundam Seed OP/Ed
One-Half Rurouni Kenshin OP
Sakurasku Love Hina OP
OP to Love Hina Again (anyone know the name?) and the 3 ED (excellent choice on the producers part)
Let Me Be With You Chobits OP (and the New Step mix, tho im not sure it was actually used in the show)
OP/ED to Full Metal Panic and Fumoffu?
ROD tv EDs (Moments in the Sun and Confidence)
Akeneiro Gungrave ED
All HunterxHunter OP (especially Ohayho, best of the bunch =))
Chrno Crusade OP/ED

Favorite non OP/ED songs i can think of off the top of my head (cuz im little tired of scrolling thru my winamp playlist):
Akatsuki no Kuruma Gundam Seed (favorite song of all atm)
Namorada do Vento (free tempo echoed mix) Gungrave (great for chillout)
Canta Per Me Noir
Ready (by Folder 5) One Piece Dance Carnival (very catchy song ;D)
tons of .hack//SIGN stuff from all three OSTs (too lazy to look up ^^)

Recommend Soundtracks:
.hack//SIGN OST 1-3
DNAngel Vocal Soundtrack
Gundam Seed Complete Best Song Collection
Ghost in the Shell OST (movie and SAC)
Read Or Die OVA OST

Lately for me I have started enjoying the second or non-main theme on the Maxi Singles that have been coming out. A couple examples are Soul Mate by Honey Bee on the Gravion Zwei single, 5 More Minutes by Bonnie Pink on the Gantz ED single (Big Bonnie Pink fan I am) and Natsu iro no kakera by Youko Ishida, the ED theme to Minikukumo Utsukushii Sekai.

For some reason I ended up liking the secondary songs more than the main ones on these. :P I am actually quite surprised that they threw the ED theme to Kono Miniku on the same maxi actually.

I am also diggin on the main theme to CLANNAD by eufonius titled Mag Mell The full version came on an arranged CD that came with the game and it is great.

For sure the GANTZ op by Rip Slyme.
I'm a big fan of breakbeat, DnB, 2-step etc etc etc so I was ecstatic when I heard this song.
