Whats a good video transcoder

i just formated my computer recently, and i lost my old video transcoder (it was a really good one, called psp divx coder or something like that)

anyways just wondering any of you guys have a good suggestion on a good video coder?

what do you plan on doing with this coder? if your last one was pretty good, why not just get that one again?
