well first it would have to be something not based on a manga right?
but the only ones I can think of ... are somewhat generic to be safe.
But there are Genre starters for any Genre if you go back far enough.
So my answer is Astro Boy.
Cuz ... I think it was first. _________________ [IMG:320:211:3eca441e00]http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o252/red255/resize.jpg[/img:3eca441e00] |

| Well, to me, in terms of storyline, it's got to be The Melancholy of HAruhi Suzumiya. |

i would have to agree with red255 because i really dont think that there were any other shows like it before its time
i would say Gigantor but the manga came out a few years after the astro boy manga
but Gigantor is still pretty original i think _________________ go to www.LRmagic.com for all your magical needs

I won't call them most creative. But they sure are different than the most.
Mushishi.
Some bug like creatures only some can see that cause trouble. Every episode revolves around a different mushi. And how the Mushishi Ginko deal with them. Quite a odd anime to say the least.
Aria the Animation/Natural
A anime about a Undine in neo Venezie! It's a slice of life anime. And meh.. i personally haven't saw such typ of anime before untill Aria. And it's quite enjoyable to.[/b]
Those are the only two that comes in mind for me. _________________ [IMG:430:120:e3eaef3cc8]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s100/Sephi2K7/Signature/Yurisigv1b.jpg[/img:e3eaef3cc8] |

I'm going to have to go with Mobile Suit Gundam. Now your probably thinking, "Well... there were plenty of robot manga and anime before that..." Yeah there were a bunch before that but Mobile Suit Gundam was really the first in the real-robot genre. _________________ [IMG:500:115:e9a3b92989]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a208/Viewtiful_E/AdaWongsig-Amelia.png[/img:e9a3b92989] |

The most original anime concept has to be I My Me Strawberry Eggs. What other or previous anime has a teacher who has to cross-dress as a woman in order to get hired at school?
The Mobile Suit Gundam is definitely an original concept. It was the first real robot mecha anime that spawned many other similar series like Macross, etc. What previous mecha anime contains the plot about a realistic war story in which it's hard to tell who is the hero and who is the villain. |

Most Original:
First Anime Series: Otogi Manga Calender; May 1, 1961. (Pretty much started it all)
First Broadcasted: Three Tales; January 15, 1960.
It's all about what started it all, of course I've never seen Otogi Manga, but I've seen screen caps of it in an oooold magazine (if I still have it, I'll scan it up ).
Three tales was an experimental broadcast features an anime about three fairy tales(Third Blood being the first to air in History). -Thanks ANN.
you wanted original |

I have to agree with you in that one. I mean the author really twisted everything to the story accordance from the reality to a interesting fiction plot. |
