Im pretty sure this is the appropriate place for this thread
Anyways, my name is Shaun, Im 24 and I live in Houston, TX. Im currently in the army and in Afganistan. I was turned on to this site through a friend that showed me some fansubs he had that he got from this site.
I was first turned on to anime in the mid 90's through a program that used to be on the Sci-Fi channel called Saturday Anime which presented feature legnth titles every weekend. The first anime I was ever exposed to was Project A-ko. When I was still young I enjoyed anime for the simpler reasons, now, after finding myself a bit more and maturing mentally, Ive recognised the superior abilities the Japanese convey through Anime and Manga in the aspects of screen-writing and in conveying philosophy.Recently, Ive come more to grips with my interest in anime and Japanese entertainment and decided to use the internet to consort with others who share my interest.
Currently, my favorite shows would include DearS, FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Amenadeyo, Eureka Seven, Bleach, Ichigo 100%, Hellsing, Fullmetal Panic (excellent animation, best Ive seen in a while), Desert Punk (Sunabozu), and Neon Genesis Evangeleon. Also some of my favorite feature length titles would include Akira (duh), Mars Wars, Project A-ko series, Demon City Shinjuku, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, 8-man After, Robot Carnival (great art), Tank Police series, Princess Mononoke, and Samurai X (originals).
Ive probably left out a few but thats probably because the didnt impact me as much as the above mentioned. If Ive left out anything let me know and Ill post more on this thread. arigato
haha. yes this is indeed the place for your introduction.
i'm quite surprised people haven't bombarded you with
welcomes/FAQs yet. as many of them will probably ask
you to drop by the LTE in free for all.
i hope you stick around and don't disappear like a lot of noobies. _________________ "The basis of optimism is sheer terror."

to reply to ddogt, my job in the army is transportation ops (fancy for truck driver) though I do other things like run the PX (Post Exchange, or something like an army convenient store) and I also work with radios.
ha,... to reply to trueline, I chose my name because the Author Ayn Raynd changed my life back in 99' with the novel The Fountainhead. If you know of my name's meaning then you may be reffering to my name being an oxymoron in relation to my life as a soldier. If not, well pardon my assumption; if so, its a loooooong story.

I plan on being a meber for quite a while. I dont see myself loosing interest in anime or manga anytime soon, and from what Ive seen in some of your forums, in time, Ill be able to establish a common ground with alot of you. I just hope I can discover some good ways to contribute to your site aside from the forums.

thats great.
honestly being a forumer, its really hard to notice that the forums
actually play a very small part of a-s.
since you like manga and anime so much, why don't you submit a
few reviews ^^ that'd be totally great. if you have any other questions
about how you can help with the site you could always just PM some
one on the staff/admin/mod. _________________ "The basis of optimism is sheer terror."
