Woo hoo! What a first episode! I've been looking forward to this one for a while, though I was only going on the A-Source synopsis (which I'd mostly forgotten) and various bits of artwork I had seen. I certainly wasn't expecting

supernatural gangsters! Gangsters, maybe, but not SUPERNATURAL IMMORTAL REASSEMBLING gangsters! I'm not sure whether or not I'm pleased this series delves into the supernatural, I was kind of looking forward to a straight (albeit complex) 1920s/30s thriller.

Still, if the story's good, which it looks like it will be, then I really won't care one jot! And if it maintains its visual quality and continues with this really interesting story telling style, I might just fall in love with this series. Hooray for more great anime!

Watch it, I tell you!

haha this anime sure ain't for kids to watch, a few bloody scene but nice story telling, hope the next epi will be as good as the first one...

Judging by the first epi, this series deserves more hype on the forum. I'm surprised that there are so few posts.

Heh, I saw "Guns & Roses" credited for the OP theme song or ED song. I was hoping to hear a familiar GnR song, but I guess it's a different group or something.

definitely a LOT of characters in this one.. story a bit vague but i kinda am getting it bit by bit.. something about immortals gathering... now where have i heard that before?

anyways, gna wait a few more eps to see if its gna be good.. well animation so far looks good. but its only the first ep. not really that impressed... at least not yet. Razz

I thought that the way the story was put together was really clever. It's only the first episode, but I already have a feel for lots of the characters, even if I don't remember their names yet.

Talking about names, I think the award for most unlikely name ever has to go to this one. There's one guy called Jacuzzi Splot. JACUZZI SPLOT! Sometimes I despair of the Japanese grasp of western naming traditions. Rolling Eyes

Then again, if Jermaine Jackson can call his daughter Jermajesty, I suppose anything's possible... Laughing

Awesome first ep. Very impressed with what I've seen in the animation department and I hope that what I've seen so far in terms of story will continue to be good. I also hope that they will elaborate more on the characters backgrounds very soon. Finally I think that the brutality scenes were really executed perfectly.

I liked everything from the 1st episode.

The mafia / gangster bit reminded me of movies like the Untouchables. Lol, shoot first and don't bother asking.

The vampire theme, reminds me of Blood+.

There's lot of style going on in the first episode. Also they way they are choosing to weave the story, all looks very promising. Each character presented seems to have it's own individualness while a duality is detected in some characters, that is they are neither all good or all bad but a mixture of both.

The release rate for this is slow, but damn this is a good show!

As of episode five, it seems there really is a rail tracer! That surprised me. I thought the number of immortals on the train were enough of a spanner in the works, but with this as well... Sucks for the passengers, it really does. I thought they did the monster really well, too, it really is something that could be out of the cracks in reality. The reappearing smoke/mist was the clincher.

I'm still getting to grips with the number of different organisations, and the different characters leanings toward these organisations, but if you want complexity (which I do) it's here in spades.

fun, very fun anime, by the way, does anyone know if the original title was meant to be in Italian, and therefore means "Noise!" or in Japanese, and therefore, means "Stupid thing!" ?? Confused

Why in the hell does this thread only have 9 posts? Baccano should be taking every anime fan by storm at this point... there's no excuse for not liking this anime.

Yeah, i think i'm gonna give this anime another try.

I've been dling the episodes, just haven't been watching them.

Couldn't get past the first 10 minutes of the 1st episode. Not because it was particulary uninteresting, just wasn't in the mood for watching anime.

Mood is very important in watching 1st episdoes, if you're in the right mood mediocre anime can seem much better than it really is and good anime might be dropped. Obviously in my case it was the latter.
