Here's all the convincing you need:
1. The intro - http://youtube.com/watch?v=1AmmvJS05oo
2. Immortals. _________________ You can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket. |

Wow just watched the first episode. Impressive. So many names but the story is so well put forth and the story telling was really good.
Everyone should definitely watch this. |

Interesting first episode. Why is it, in Japan - all the first episodes of really good shows barely make any sense?
That doesn't seem to be a prevalent theme in the US. |

I think it's because in the US, TV execs don't like a first episode that doesn't immediately tell the viewer exactly what the situation is. Even if there is a mystery in the series driving the story forward, they feel that the viewer needs to be well grounded and comfortable with the situation the characters find themselves in to enjoy the show. Personally, I think this stifles creativity, hence the reason I like anime like this. It's the same in Britain as it is in America too, though to a slightly lesser extent, I think (although it's getting worse here...). They think that making the viewer confused is the same as putting the viewer off watching more.
And of course, because the TV execs are the people that decide which shows go out, the prevalent theme of easily understood shows is reinforced and eventually the viewers do start to need to be spoon fed. And then any shows that start out confusing will put the viewer off. It's a vicious circle.
On a different note, is it just me or are Miria and Isaac brilliant? It would have been so easy for these characters to have become irritating, but for every episode so far, I've just found them hilarious. What do other people think about them? |

| Hooray for Baccano! A little gem in an otherwise fairly barren season. Here's hoping for more to come. |

| This season of anime really does kind of suck compared to last season. Boccano was good, but I don't think it has anything left in it to continue with a second season really. |

I'd say there was plenty of scope for a second season. For a start, they live forever, so any time period is open to them (after the time they drank the elixer, that is). Plus there are all sorts of characters from the boat that were hardly used in the story. PLUS there's that demon and whatever he/it was trying to do...
Like I say, plenty of things alluded to but not really explored. |

awesome series...
i have never been so excited and glued to an anime for while now.
this anime needs a little patience and time to finish the series in one showing. since there is 3 difference stories being told at once.
but once u finally put everything together.. it is simple superb. |

fun, very fun anime, by the way, does anyone know if the original title was meant to be in Italian, and therefore means "Noise!" or in Japanese, and therefore, means "Stupid thing!" ?? |
well, baccano literally means "noise", thus applicable in meaning "commotion" as well. It Italian and nothing Japanese at all.
and it really is a nice show.(but sadly underated) well then again, it doesnt really have a captivating plot or graphics. it is the storyline progress that is catchy ( and the jazzy music). so I dont blame the fact that not many ppl are aware of this show.
Interesting concept of linking supposedly unrelated event together.Certainly is very different from other anime, that conc on one main event.Philosphically speaking, isnt that what its like in real life ? Events are all linked from one way or another, no matter how insignificant or far-away it seems
Confusing to me in the begining of ep1. After that, as the story links, I sorta see the picture
btw,I read that there are 3OVAs, effectively making this series 16eps in total, but I cant seem to find the additional 3eps... ... |

| First one's subbed! Should this thread go back into the current anime forum, or should another thread be started there? |
