1. You must have admin privilege on the computer.
2. Go to Start Menu\Run\ and type msconfig
3. It should launch System Configuration Utility window.
4. Click Startup tab and deselect any entries you wish to disable.
5. Reboot.
Keep in mind that some programs need to read the registry during bootup or they won't run, so re-enable them if this happens. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

| A good thing to do is look at the startup list and run a google search on anything that looks suspicious. Sure it takes some reading and research, but if you look something up and it turns out to be spyware, you'll know to disable it on startup. It's good to go through the entire list and familiarize yourself with what each of them does, but if it's really full of random programs and such that may take a while. |

both posts above are good advice. but if you're really lazy, you can go ahead and deselect everything on that list (except maybe your anti-virus). i hate having stuff run in the background of my computer, so this is basically what i've done. everything on my startup list is deselected barring my AVG anti-virus program (never disable your anti-virus if you plan on ever having a working computer) _________________
