I've just watch this anime first eps, and i don't see a single thing wrong about it, people compare it to the series Slam Dunk(which i think its over rated it in the first place), some say that the anime was to short, but in reality the animation, the movement of the series is so much better than Slam Dunk in my opinion(they come out with seasons, so their not finished up yet). I'm a big basketball fan and i like to see basketball animes, its nice to see an anime with smooth movements, where we're seeing them using the moves instead of seeing them in slow motion.
Plot Summary for Buzz Beater (2007) as found here: Hideyoshi is a homeless boy living in New York in the near future, who survives by hustling other kids in basketball games. But now he's been drafted into a pro team-a pro team with a very unique goal. There once was a time when humans dominated the game of basketball. But times have changed, and now the physically superior alien players have taken over the game, and there are barely any human players next. But Hideyoshi's team-the first all-human team to compete in the Space League-intends to change all that, and bring the championship back home to Earth.
Synopsis for Buzz Beater: In the streets, the only law is to trust nobody and to live on your own strength. Hideyoshi Tono and his two friends have made a living extorting bad basketball players out of their money, but when the opportunity comes along for Hideyoshi to play the most competitive basketball, he just can't refuse.
Yoshimune, a wealthy basketball fan, believes that Earthlings can make it to the Intergalactic league, where the play is dominated by the bigger, faster Gorans. He assembles a team of the best players from Earth, including Hideyoshi, and together they aim for the top of the basketball universe. _________________ http://ui31.gamespot.com/2014/lmfaoyk0_2.gif

i kinda like the first tv of BB better, it was based on a webmanga, tho it had a lot of notable differenes i enjoyed it all the same.
nothing wrong with comparing BB to slam dunk, it was created by the same person afterall. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a]

I agree with warhead. I don't think this series has been given the attention that it deserves. While maybe not the most complicated anime out there, I happen to like it for its simplicity and its idea, and I don't think it's fair to compare it to Slam Dunk given that they were created in two different decades with two different budgets and two different goals, even if both animes are by the same creators. It's obvious to me that they're out to accomplish something different and separate from Slam Dunk, and the only real complaints I've seen in comparing the two animes is that Buzz Beater just wasn't long enough for many fans.
With a second season, I'm hoping it'll curve this apparent length issue.
Personally, I couldn't stomach Slam Dunk, despite its raving reviews. Too cheesy and drawn out.
I think I'll check this out, being a fan of Slam Dunk. But because it has aliens and stuff in it, I'm afraid it'll get cheesy with the players using powers and weird stuff like that. Guess I'll have to watch to find out.

1st season of Buzzer beater wasn't that good, but the 2nd season is pretty good. Is it me or is Hideyoshi the voice of Naruto? Whoever is voicing Hideyoshi is one hilarious voice actor.
