I wouldn't know really =/ but it would be interesting if he did make a documentary on it xD
i just found this out last year when i worked at the Red Cross part-time

LOL it could be the hospital that founds them..they go out to get the blood..and the hospital pays for the equipment....but they are sold the blood they get...then agian i don't know ur system in canada so...yeah... Rolling Eyes

More like "sorry...no money, no blood" xP

haha that reminded me of our last discussion with our instructor about how a female's placenta is stored after delivery and sold to scientists so make pills and even skin products

Hey then u just found urself a donor xD

and if i ever need blood I can just ask Luna for some cuz hers in universal =3

Me personally haven't given blood since Ever i think, the only times i ever had a needle in me were if they needed to test my blood and stuff at hospitals =/

though Im of legal age so I can just go and donate if i want to ^^

luna, ahh yea they probably do do that in the USA tho, i wouldnt doubt it. america's government are money hungry pigs Very Happy

so O+ is the most common blood type? thats weird i always thought O+ was rare and A blood type was common

It's more like the gene for O blood is the most common out there ^^

But that does sound terrible, you donate blood and then in turn they sell it out to hospitals O.O

dave and gig> actually, no.... O+ blood type is more common than A+ blood type... for example in the US, O+ make up 38% of the population while A+ make up 34%....

So it's no wonder there are more Os here...

hehe tho i can't complain much about the placenta..cause its not like the mother wants to keep it in a jar or anything Rolling Eyes

but its still a lil disturbing knowing where most of our facial creams and meds come from xD

Yeah when i was in college i used to give blood all the time. your not really giving anything up but your time and you are able to help save lives. who knows some day you might need a blood transfusion or something. so go give blood.

by the way plasma is a viable option too. i used to do that in college for a while as well.

but now i cant give blood because i was in africa for too long.

it sucks but oh well.

I was working at a job last summer, I had to go to the hospital to do some work for my boss. I was cleaning out old documents, when I was asked to give blood. I was like yeah sure anything to get me out of doing this. So I gave my blood which was AB. Then they showed me the guy who needed a blood transfer at first site you think what a nice old man. Boy was I wrong the guy was crazy cursing like no tomorrow. he even cursed at me for giving him my blood Mad

. well thats the last time I give blood to him or anyone else...well if I do give it to someone I don't want to know who it is Wink

I wish I COULD give blood... I went to give blood once with my father, but they say I'm too small and that I don't weight enough T__T what a shame...

I have not donated blood as of yet but I do want. There was this time when I was still in high school that I signed up to donate blood at my school...but then I got sick the day before...sooo...that was a bust. Can't donate blood when you got a cough and a stuffed up nose *sigh*

And then I never got around to doing it. Can't do it now since I still have a cough...but as soon as I feel better again I'll donate!! (hopefully...)
