Jigglypuff probably give off the most damage with the rest attack.
i prefer pikachu since it's usuall faster than all the other characters.
i been playing it for about 2 years now. still is one of the greatest games Exclamation

my fav character is capt. Falcon hes fast strong and agile so hes good i love him Very Happy

The key to jigs isnt really the damage that rest does (though it does do about as much as a decently charged smash), its the fact that you can combo into it and make quite a few combos that can basicly kill from 0, though are very hard to exicute. In general rest is best used as a combo finisher (normaly turning it into a kill) or just a surpise move if you are good enough at it you can just mix it in when needed. But what ever you do dont get to reliant on it, cause if you do and people know that they just need to play slowly, shield it, and then smash you.

That being said while rest is needed for a good puff, most of his kills/strategy lines in the exicution of the wall of pain. for those of you not familiar with this style it involves a whole mess of foward bs (which can actualy be angled to gain hieght), back a's in air and foward a's in air combined with puffs ability to not land for long periods of time to edge gaurd way past the edge. Basicly instead of edge gaurding at the edge, you jump out there and edge gaurd them as far away form the edge as you can.

When you get good at this you can stop recoveries at almost any % and even do fun things like kill falco from 0 with a back throw,back a in air and an edge hog (or another back a in air)

Well, from what I saw on some other forums, Marth and Shiek are considered the Bests. They are my two of my three favorite characters to play with, with Game and Watch being the third. I mean, who doesn't like to flip bacon?

In battle, I like to use Kirby. He's a bit harder to use than some characters because he is pretty much a variable, but if you take some time to work with him you can have a pretty dependable fighter. I used to play as Samus in the original, but I thought Nintendo killed her skills in Melee.

I like to use Marth, Pikachu and Mewtwo. Marth because he is fast, strong and can counter, Pikachu because he annoys the people I play against (I'm not half bad as the rodent mind you) and Mewtwo, well, there's nothing more fun than watching your opponent getting pissed off because you keep heaving them around the area. Mewtwo's throws = Awesome.

Melee is one of the best fighting games out there.
I use Capt. Falcon, Kirby, and Fox McCloud.

my friends and i used to play it all the time too...i was most often falco, and two others were marth and roy, and the last one would pick random characters to play cuz he was so dang good.

melee is a great game, i play it all the time with my siblings

my favorite character is link, he seems to have the best combination of short- and long-range attacks

On the orriginal i used link once, was hooked and even after getting melee haven't used others except in special games

Before someone stole my gamecube... i would play SSBM maybe 4 hours a day with some friends? It is my favorate multiplayer game of all time... i dont think i know anyone personally who has a gamecube yet no SSBM
