I got away by saying it's this nifty-looking round thing. Yep, I like ignorant people somtimes.

haha, shoulda told them it's a CD-player from the 1950s.... or a time-machine. You can mix it up a bit ^___^

I went to commuter school, so I didn't get the joy (or horror) of staying in a dorm. Instead, my daily routine was:

- get up at 5:45am
- shower, breakfast is for the weak
- leave house by 6:15am
- drive car to train station, arrive by 6:35am
- ride commuter-rail train, arrive in Boston by 7:35am (try to stay awake to read)
- ride subway train, arrive in Dorchester by 7:50am
- ride shuttle bus, arrive on campus by 8:10am
- walk to classroom, sit down at desk by 8:25am
- class starts 8:30
- classes every hour on the half until 1:30pm
- leave campus, repeat everything above in reverse, arrive home 4pm

luckily I only had to do that 3 times a week... then I got wise and adjusted it to a 2-day schedule.

you're quite lucky xeno,

as for me, there was a time that i get up at 5 00 am, take less rides than you at about 6 am and it takes 1 1/2 hrs. I arrive at about 7 30 and classes end at about 6 pm...

and the thing is.... It's 6 days a week!!!!

damn, what a hell semester...

All I know is that my college days are over....

I got graduated in three years, which was a great thing as college seemed to much like high school and at times bored me....

But do not get me wrong it was quite an exciting time, where there were no responsibilities and a lot of time to experiment.

*shudders* I'm happy that my earliest waking time is 6:00AM.

My school's 45min away, give or take if I don't miss a train here or a subway there, so the commute isn't that bad. XD

I spent my first year in the dorm when I lived even farther away though. Ah, it was so distracting to be in a dorm where the TV was on 24/7 and we played Mario Kart all through the night.

University life wasn't really that much of an adjustment for me. You're given more freedom in what you do which means that you're more responsible for yourself, but as long as you have good study habits and know how to prioritize yourself, then it's fine. I'd think that learning the lay of the land would be the biggest challenge . . . or maybe the occasional crazy professor that has tenor but doesn't know how to lecture worth crap, but that's what rating sites and word-of-mouth from students with experience are for.

Truthfully, I find college boring, but most of the kids I observe around here seem to be having the time of their lives. I never liked school anyway. You've got to eat your brussel sprouts before you can get your cake, though. And good for you if you happen to like both.

Uni life for me is a lot better than attending school. First you have more freedom compare to school life. The subject you are taking are not useless like the subject in school such as Moral Studies. The exam is also project base where 50% is for final only.

After class, I attend some of the club such as EMINA (anime club). I also play DOTA with my friends. Can ask freind to sign attendance for me is the subject is too boring or dull as some of the lectural's presentation can made you go to sleep or you cannot understand what they are saying as their slang is very weird.

Now I'm in my second year. I cannot wait for industry training where you do not have to attend class anymore.

Edit:
For those who buy DVD or VCD anime in their anime life, why are you so stupid to spend $40 to $50 to buy a DVD. You can used the money to buy at most 10 meals ( $4 per meal). Instead go download anime or get more anime from your anime club that way you can save at least $300 - $500 a months which you can use to pay your rent.

You can also go to youtube, veoh or crunchyroll to watch anime. don't waste your parent's money on buying DVD which the quality is sometimes worse than downloading anime from the internet.
