Hmm... Kyou's moe factor just went up with the introduction of that amazingly cute baby boar! And Tomoyo is just pure awesome another 700+ hit combo!

I still haven't fully adjusted myself from Ryo Hirohashi doing Sora Naegino's genki pushover in Kaleido Star and her being Kyou who is so feisty. Loving it Very Happy

Dango Daikazouku FTW ~ who woulda though a circle with 2 stripes for its eyes can be so cute haha.

edit: forgot to mention

I found the scene where Okazaki ate the bread where Nagisa's tears had fell was really sweet ^^

Seriously, he will probably be able to keep the comedy going by himself just by interacting with others.

...With a little of Mr. Gar, perhaps.

As for my thoughts:

-Not really that much of an emphasis on the other world, but I suppose that's normal especially if they are doing a similar chronology in an episode as Kanon 2006. I guess we'll just have to wait as each episode progresses to see how it actually ties in with everything.

-As expected, the episode focused more on Nagisa rather than any other people, but it is interesting to see Kyou's reactions to Youhei's comments. There's something peculiar about it, but I don't know what. Tomoyo's showing disappointed me a little, though. It's like going back to the point where she acts and behaves like a generic 'ice-queen'. The combo hits didn't amuse me, but rather, it was Youhei's monkeying that did it again. Fuuko provided mild entertainment with her antics, so on the whole I was relatively satisfied.

The interaction between Nagisa and Tomoya did provide a few insights into the character of the former. If anything, this episode seemed to emphasize the fact that Nagisa is physically weak, considering that it was talked about twice (Sanae then the girl herself). It surprises me to see how Tomoya seems to be bringing out the good side of his 'delinquent' tag. Perhaps that tag came about after falling out with his father, and it's in times like this when he meets a new friend that he wishes to help her as much as possible. At least that's what his denial about his intentions for helping Nagisa seem to say.

-We've got a few new supporting characters, Yuusuke and Yukine (as well as kawaii little Botan). Somehow or other they will probably be a little more involved, unless someone who has played the game knows otherwise. Don't know about the first two, but I'm sure Botan will play a bigger part than I imagined in the Kyou arc (IF they are planning to go the route of arcs, that is).

-No Ichinose, little Tomoyo...Woe to the fanboy in me. Crying or Very sad

The preview reeks of Youhei, not that I'm complaining entirely. What's this about wanting to get on Tomoyo's good side? Considering Kyou's presence in the new Theater Club Room, perhaps she might be one of those new members Nagisa and Tomoya were searching for...I think.

Eagerly awaiting the next episode...Maybe this time Youhei might actually think that the Tomoya talking to him is a ghost.

I really wanna hear opinions from people that has already played the game, because Clannad is getting nowhere atm.

Definitely the weakest episode to date, not mentioning it's already a downfall since episode 1.

and i agree with the previous poster - Youhei is definitely the only humor in Clannad. The other 'recycled' jokes is just downright... generic.

I hope they wont be placing another Tomoyo-combo-kick scene at episode 4, this is getting old already. What's next? 1.2k combo? And the high-5 & boxing okazaki vs. fuuko is just...... nevermind. Evil or Very Mad

This is all of course, imo. Smile

You know when you're a little too obsess with Clannad when you start actually checking if the dango family is a real show or not ...

My my, this eps was very funny and cute. The beginning was very interesting and sparked my already curious mind.

Visual> i think you're expecting too much out of Clannad, and thats why you won't be enjoying it... personally I think the series is still in it's early stages of developing the characters and building the plot for later on...

I've been reading up on clannad on wikipedia and the story's much more complicated than I've imagined... and I guess it's likely going to follow nagisa's arc although he'll somewhat touch on the other arcs. not sure if i'm gonna like such complicated storyline...

^^ i was thinkin the same .. honostly it's never good to expect so much .. especially given there's only 3 episodes .. i always found it strange when people start posting how things are already heading down a bad patch when only a few episodes are released .. i can't remember ever watchings something where the entire storyline was explained in the first couple of episodes .. it's the usual introduction of characters .. a hint of what may come .. the the fun "ride" to what actually does come ..

but either way .. i know i'm enjoying clannad greatly ..

Understandable, but it seemed like you've misunderstood my point there. Especially when this is a production by Kyoto Animation, the hype people brought up everywhere is unavoidable and sometimes on a totally annoying level.

Most of their work, if not, all of them, has been a surprise(a pleasant one) but certainly not the best out there. At least it is for me. I find some reviews/comments tend to be really hypocritical, when people would try squeeze even the slightest mistakes or flaws in other anime, and yet they go totally 'propitious-like' when it is about Kyoto Animation. Now, i'm not naming anybody here. You have your opinion and i respect that.

episode 4 .. i laughed sooooo hard ...

though it wasn't anything special .. when tomoyo did her combo kick which sent youhei flying towards tomoya and he kicked him as well making a "comob chained" i busted out laughing so hard... XD

anyway!!! we learned some nice stuff in this episode .. tomoyo is hinted to be (well more like told us specifically) that she's the council president .. or will be .. (which im' sure this will go towards the whole drama club thing) .. and we finally found out two different things ..

1) that beautiful (tomoya's words) lady he met at the bakery was actually fuuko's older sister

2) fuuko is the mysterious car accident girl that the other students were talking about

now back to the other "fun / cute" parts .. the kotomi-chan! part was sooo cute .. especially when she moved herself to turn to look at tomoya .. and she moved over to let him sit next to her to read with her .. ^__^

can't wait for more episodes!!

I have to admit this episode was amazingly entertaining. I burst out laughing like 4 times. Story is getting interesting too. Everything is like, connected.

Well well.. this is one little funny episode! i have to say though, the humor is very mediocre.. and tomoyo's combokick is still going on -_- My reaction was Smile

I was afraid the production is going to continue for episodes with this typical cracker, but alas; character developments! Yay for Fuko! Now, i'm really looking forward for the next episode..

On a side note: Is it me, or anime-source is really lagging nowadays..

Hmm... I heard a similar version before, but the person isnt singing "Dango~", she was singing "Tsukasa~"...

I think I finally able to differentiate the characters... but Kyou and Tomoyo are kinda similar isnt it..?

Btw... Fuko's arc is kinda like Ayu's story...

And I agree Kyou and Tomoyo are sorta similar, I guess both can kick ass, long hiar, 'authorative?'

Eppie 4 was definately full of funnies ^^
- 'The weird people doubled'
-When Okazaki stuck the popper straw into Fuko's nose Laughing

-'Confession' scene between Nagisa and Ryou, and Kyou falls through the door haha
- Combo kick
- When Okazaki was feeding Youhei with stupid lines and poses

It didn't even click to me that the lady at the bakery could've been Fuko's older sister, thanx for that kozeu Very Happy
