I've just watched the first episode of this and, I have to say, it looks really interesting. I've read some of the Blue Drop manga which seems to mainly comprise of one off stories told in the same universe, but from the looks of things, this series will be focused around one group of characters and one story. I did enjoy what I read of the manga, it was kind of bitter-sweet sci-fi, mixed in with some shoujo-ai, and I think that's going to translate well into the anime. The first episode was sedate, but still engaging and I thought the characters were strong, as was the writing. I also liked the way they presented the academy the way it would be in real life, rather than as an idealised paradise that these places always seem to be in anime. Hopefully that will continue as the series unfolds.
It's definitely something different, which is always good in my book. Looking forward to more of this. |

Just saw the first episode and think it might be quite interesting. One episode still a bit early to really tell where it will be going but going to watch some more episodes just to see for sure |

| I really enjoyed the intro episode. Definitely going to give this one a look. Though the whole sci-fi thing is confusing and strange. It looks like it should be interesting. |

| Eppie 2 maintained the goodness. I have a good feeling about this anime, I love the slightly melancholic/wistful feel to the music and the OP is very good. Not so much a fan of the ED, but that's just my down to my tastes... |

| I agree, goodness continued. Can't wait for episode 3. I generally give these shows at least 3 episodes before deciding whether or not I'll watch the shows. This one is already in the plus catagory. |

this series surprisingly peaks my interest...

| Little disappointed with episode 4. I'd really have liked to see the kidnappers either dead or being arrested, not escaping like rats. Why is it animators always let the scumbags get away? |

| Yeah, the story strayed a little into anime cliché in episode four, didn't it? I hope it's just a momentary blip. I'm interested to see how they'll portray the emul force stuff. It's like constructions of smoke/liquid in the manga and really effective imo. Hope they can do it justice animated. |

lol, something tells me they've dropped any overtly yuri overtones in the translation from manga to anime. I might be wrong, but I think you'll probably have to wait until the very last episode for there to be anything approaching a lesbian kiss...
Then again, Marimite fans have been waiting for three series, so it might NEVER happen. |

After the blip that was episode four, there was another blip that was episode five. The writing was sloppy, so was some of the animation, and at times the bgm's stuck out like a sore thumb. After praising the music for this series, I felt a bit let down listening to the insensitive, unsubtle bgm's in this episode.
Fortunately episode six was a whole lot better in every way. And episode seven wasn't too bad either. I'm a little worried about the general direction of this series. It seems lots of time is wasted on unnecessary side story, especially when it's only a 13 episode series. At the halfway point I'm hoping they'll tighten things up from this point on, or else I feel I'm going to end up slightly disappointed with Blue Drop, just like I was with Soukou no Strain. |
