Anyone watched the first ep??

Your thoughts???

So far with the first episode nothing is really going on...

but they did manage to establish characters and what their first impression personalities would be...

including would-be conflicts...

and even made the episode well enough to end with a scene that MIGHT entice some to watch the next episode...

so yeah...

watched this today. no roller coaster ride. my mood was pretty much same the whole time but it was interesting. it is the first episode and they did introduce the characters fairly well. i think the last scene peaked my interest a bit. will be interesting to see because the guy isn't even the main character.

character interactions would be interesting, considering there seems to b a lot of different angles developing.

i kinda like this better than the other transfer student story so far(like the character designs better as well).. other than that, nothing much again.. hopefully not another blatant harem with no substance thing(fanservice is good just that it shouldnt be the only running motivaton for a show), Evil or Very Mad

guess by now the rundown of the story would be as usual, but the selling point of these shows are the interactions bet the characters and how well they're executed..

haah.. wish there'll a followup to the kare kano anime.. i dont think there'll be another highschool series like it.

I'm not sure about this one yet, but could be good. Seems they have a lot of different relationships between pairs of characters starting, but haven't gotten anywhere yet. I think maybe they are doing too much of this at once where it seems to be slowing the story down in the beginning.

Not sure if this would be a spoiler, but I'll use the spoiler quotes just to be safe, it kinda sums up everything I saw in the first two episodes...

You have the main character who is surprised when a female childhood friend returns for mysterious reasons and lives with him.

But he seems to have an eye for a shy girl in his class.

Main character's best friend is also a childhood friend of the returning female childhood friend. He encounters an aloof genius quiet girl that decides to use him as some sort of social experiment.

The female childhood friend that has returned is a bit of a tomboy and plays around with the main character, but seems to have an eye for a boy in her class (she's a year older than the main character) who seems to try to push her away at first.

I've been calling Kouchi Sanada the main character, though with so much attention put on the relationships of his best friend and the genius girl and the female childhood friend and her classmate, I guess "main character" should be use loosely.

I'm rooting for Kazuki's or maybe Kouichi's...

ep8, wow im really impressed how this show holds up, this type of story with real content you dont see much often. yes its pretty much a show about relationships but you gotta give props to how the characters interact, its not just the typical chara type builds but there is something like a subtleness in that the images/scenarios/ideas doesnt seem to be forced fed to the audience with a big spoon.. maybe a teaspoon would be a more fitting description -its not too big and you take it in a sip.

somehow the relationships/pairings doesnt seem to be clear cut, and thats what really interests me. and the focus of the show shifts from one character to another, so you dont get tired of the typical single male lead/centered story(usually one lucky guy surrounded by girls).. and i guess this aint really a harem anime afterall.

i'd honestly hate for this show to go the kouchixmao routes. they're both very vehement about the brother/sister relationship and kouchi seems pretty damn committed to yuumi.

i think it's a very good tension/drama builder, however, as bro/sis relationships tend to be very strong and can sometimes create a very awkward situation when getting invovled with someone else.

I've did a little marathon on this series, and even though I enjoyed it to a certain extent, it most certainly did not seem to me like there was any heavy drama or material from the characters. They've got a good way to go with several scenarios.

(1) Like everyone has been mentioning, the Kouichi/Yuumi and Kai/Mao relationships together.

(2) Kazuki's apparent obsession/infatuation with Eriko. I won't be surprised if Sakino plays a more important part in this, but like I said, I won't be expecting anything heavy from this.

The humor isn't too shabby, if a little generic, as are some of the characters. I don't particularly see Kazuki as a favorite character, though, because of his indecisiveness as compared to Kouichi, who has apparently started taking small steps of faith to develop his relationship with Yuumi.

oh man just watched the newest ep out...

hmmm it might end up like i have said... it looked like kou and mao has feelings for each other? but is hiding it behind a smiling face?

i get a far more 1-sided affection coming from Mao towards kouchi. the viewers already know that desipite Mao's outward attitude, she's still very shy about her own relationships. and while she may just be leaning on kouchi with their childhood friendship as a crutch, i get the feeling that she's crushing on him a bit, whereas the kouchi i'm seeing is still completely fixated on yuumi.
