God there are so many errors to what you just wrote that I urge you read it at all again.
'All images and comments are property of their respective owners' means that A-S does not claim responsibility for any of the images or comments posted on this site. Your analogy about software isn't consistent at all. We're not claiming that we're giving it away for free, it's a fact that we provide the service for free. We are well aware that scanlated manga is still an infringement of international law regarding intellectual property, but the manga industry also recognizes that fansites such as ours spreads awareness to the product and enhances sales. They have traded off by saying to us to remove the content after licensing, which is more than fair. If the manga industry wanted to squash us like a bug as you so bluntly said, they'd have to issue a warning to us to take down the content. Which we do when requested. No law suits!
You are not within your rights as you so assume, because although you are a dual citizen, you are not protected by DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY. You reside in the US and as such, are subjected to the laws within that territory. You should study some law before making such outrageous claims.
By selling A-S, you automatically load the implication that you are in fact owner or a executive representing A-S, which you are not and thus, infringed upon the law. Religion does not cover business transactions, to bust your delirious bubble. You claiming that you created it has no purpose in this case.
So what if we make money from the ads? There is no regulation that we cannot host the types of ads that we want; whats more it;s irrelevant. You making profit from it or not is also irrelevant; what is relevant is that you are selling something that doesn't belong to you. If someone buys it, you become liable for a lawsuit by not only your client, but also from A-S's owner(s).
All I can say is read the above comments again before making another pseudo argument.

I did a google search for "xenocrisis0153" (I googled myself... ewwwww) the other day cause I was bored, and I found my Lucky Star review copy-pasted on someone else's site (they left my name and the link back to A-Source attached, so I didn't care) and I think the other was to one of my Haruhi Suzumiya reviews. unlicensed in the US (the country where our server is), but internationally... it's licensed in other places (Japan, for instance)
and yes, Ichigo 100% disappeared because it's available in America

Unlicensed is different than not being copyrighted. The manga companies have the legal right to crush A-S, but they don't because they figure it's a good way to promote sales.
