problem with sound card

Hi all,

I am using a computer which was recently formatted but i forgot to write down the name of my sound card driver... soooooo i am kinda stuck on what to do. it seems like my sound card is c-media ac97 but i cant seem to find the driver for it. SO anyways i was wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me. Thank you!!

Open your CPU casing and take out the sound card. There should be a label on it, you can find out the model number and then search the Internet for driver.

yeah my friends and i ripped apart the computer apart to try to find the sound card but we couldnt find it.. so i think its built in sound card

It's an onboard sound card then. Since you don't know the model number, all you can do is try out one by one.
