I like animes with some deep thoughts and emotions, so I voted for drama. I like GitS too, altough it doesn't really fit into the category. Also a good comedy (maybe spiced up with a bit of ecchi) is always welcome. Smile

Has got to be comedy for me. Lucky Star, Hayate No Gotoku and Seto No Hanayome are probably my top 3. But I also like anything Kyoto Animation makes and they make alot of drama like Kanon and Clannad, love those too.

well, i dont think i've ever watched an anime that I should consider perfect yet. All of the animes I watch always have flaws. Anyway in regard of my favorite gerne, it has to be comedy, and the anime that come close to perfect for me in term of comedy has to be Seto No Hanayome. Sure, episode 3,4, and 5 of seto no hanayome might be a bit boring, but it just keep getting better and better and better.

and if if and only if it was made then all lot of people will kill just to have just 1 ep of it and this is not an exageration

bec perfection is wat we like to attain but it is impossible as of now

and also pls revise this and make more appropable bec perfect anime is way to dangerous to people

The only reason I take any time out of my life to watch so much anime is because I find most of it to be intelectually stimulating. More so than most conventional American shows, it requires me to get involved mentally in order to fully undestand whats being conveyed to the audience. I'm also a sucker for good art, the Japanese are masters of suspense and writing philosophy into the scripts and stories in alot of anime I watch.

I dunno why but any anime that can make me laugh is about as good as it gets XD. Personally there are other animes that i would prefer over comedy for example action/adventure but the funniest ones are the best ones.

It changes on my mood, but thats basically it.

I've never watched a perfect anime till now.
I go with adventure and action. Dunno but they seem to be the best anime which delivers something. Comedy was good before but not anymore. They exaggerate with romance and eechi.

Imo, almost all genres have their prime anime. but for me, 90% of my favorites are drama/fantasy and a little comedy.

I would say a perfect anime has music that sets the mood and intertwines itself with the watcher. Great animation would obviously be a part of a perfect anime. The story line would have to be in-depth and as original as it can be. A major factor for a perfect anime is an ending that is not always happy, but real.

The closest animes that i have watched, which is not much, that would fit those characteristics is Death Note and Black Lagoon.

Mix Ichigo 100%(extreme Romance/Hot girls), with Tenjho Tenge(extreme Action), and Ghost Stories, english version(extreme Comedy).

i wouldnt really say i have a fovorite since all of these categories are intertwined. when we have romance its either accompanied by ecchi or drama and/or schoollife when we have ecchi it usually has comedy so anime have some of all these qualities. of course some are purely serious but in my opinion what makes a good anime is balence. the perfect balence between all of these traits can make a good anime great and lacking this can make a good anime shit which is why in my opinion many manga->anime conversions turn out to be shit

Agreed...some even differ from their original story by so much. Anyway, i really don't think there's a perfect anime out there. Each anime categories have their own strengths and weakness....i don't think one can keep on watching action anime all the way, a little drama or comedy anime to add in will brighten up the day. Then again, there isn't just a pure action or drama anime film out there, is there? Surely there'll be some mixture of comedy and maybe ecchi to them, that's what makes anime so interesting to me.
