macross has and always is a "visual experience" , even the first series and movie waaay back was on the cutting edge of animation "during its time", same as macross plus with the "dedication pioneers" thing they did, and zero, now that was really on the edge when(the time/year) they did that. they always look like theyre a step ahead of whats the next animation level. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a]

good observation..
if that is so and her bloodline runs true... i wonder if the enemy's attack has something to do with her arrival(her singing to b exact), remember sarah and mao had a connection with the original alien frames from which the valkyrie was based on. and the enemy right now seems to be of the same kind. some kinda bio mech. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a]

finally the tv ep1 is subbed.
just as expected its a little different than the deculture cut we saw last year. some scenes skipped, while some new cuts were shown in between scenes.
it ends pretty much the same with alto boarding the VF25, but new op/ed and new cut scenes makes it worth the "recap". cant wait for ep2!! preview looks awesome. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a]

I love it,
I had wondered how much the animation quality would drop for the TV series, after all, the graphics in the promo looks like it would have been expensive to maintain for 20+ some episodes. But looks like the quality barely dropped at all, I hope they can maintain it. (and not see something like Gonzo produced anime, where it has beutiful beginning and ending episodes, but the in between ones suffer.)
i just by mistake glanced over this and were by an instant taken over by curiousity....
I wonder if it would be better to first watch Macross Zero before Frontier.... Even the animation from Zero (2002) seems well up to date.
Those guys doing the animation, sure must be praised as the pioneers in that field, only visual art with their Air, Kanon, and Clannad are close to rival at visual wonders (though air/kanon/clannad were more with how they used light ect).
Looking forward to this one.... yum yum, like candy. =)
EDIT: oh my god, the animation is beyond the gods in this one.

ep2
gadamn cliffhanger after a cliffhanger!
aww.. alto hime emo moment, tho gotta admit at least it wasnt an "overly emo" nonsense and it had reason/motivation.
damn sas guys where do they get off hitting people they invited over, plus he saved his sister to boot. lol tho i guess just asking for a valkyrie wasnt really funny specially considering the circumstances.
i have a feeling Sheryl wont be leaving frontier for awhile.. i mean with those aliens roaming around i doubt theyll let her go back to wherever she came from . we hear a lot of familiar events brewing on the conversations, another "miss macross" contest? so i guess Ranka is the new "Minmay" of the story huh.. -she works a chinese restaurant and she can sing too.
Alto hime looks cute in those pictures, he seems to be from a prominent theater group/family background. and on the OP is that actually Alto as a Geisha??
so far so good.. i really havent had a series in awhile where i could say i was entirely satisfied, macross frontier definitely hasn't let down any expectation ive had about it thus far. animationwise, thats prolly the best there is right now. i just hope they dont pull out some macross7-like VFs in the run.. yknow the Valkyries with built in speakers >_<..
maan... i hope we get an ep soon where we can catch a breather... its gonna be a real killer if the following eps will end just when the action begins. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a]

ep3. fanservice ep?
i had hoped that the thing with Alto becoming a pilot would drag on a couple more eps, it kinda happened so fast.. just like that.(ok maybe not that fast but i have a hard time accepting it all happened in the scope of one ep.), anyways... Nome's buns! and as expected Ranka joins the miss Macross pageant.
another setup for Sheryl and Altoh meeting, this time an earing. Ranka seems to have found some emotional "support" in Altoh so i guess well have a dose of love triangle dilemma soon.
Episode 4.... just wow.... jesus christ, the visual effects is massive.
So I watched Macross Zero(once more) and was like "hmmm.... it's from 2002 yet the visual effects surpasses any anime even current ones, with Macross Frontier being the exception".
It's standing up to the hype and BEYOND.
Macross Zero was godly back then, Frontier is almighty godlike aswell.
I don't understand why Gundam could be popular with Macross around, Macross is better on all fronts, just incredible.
This is an Anime you do buy the best widescreen full HD TV fore, because it's well worth it.
