Ep 9 pissed me off.

I don't like it when an enemy gets sniped in the head, apparently can still fight and runs away.

^ if you mean with the Vajra, it was running away in the first place... at least from what it looked like, it had prolly accomplished its mission and was dodging sms' pursuit.

the whole sister sniper situation seemed a bit forced(at least from when the issue started, i wonder why grace just suddenly/carelessly brought up the issue -and out of a conversation where it wasnt related.), Alto and Michele's over reaction doesnt help either.. neither did Klan slapping the battroid. dunno... felt like something that would only happen in macross7..

other than that animation was decent, and i rather they continue with the eps with just NARA studio, the only reason that the character animation quality drops on other episodes is because other studios are doing them(which is again not a common practice to be switching studios specially on a short 25+ episoder series.).

next ep preview: "Legend of Zero" are they finally gonna make a connection to macross zero? looks either theyre making a movie or video or taping a show with sheryl on the beach.. maybe something like on macross7 where they re-enacted hikaru and minmay with basara and mylene. perhaps Sherly will play the role of "Sara Nome".. (ok admittedly thats quite the wishfull thinking on my part. Razz

) besides i dont think what happened back at macross zero was made known to the public, so that prolly wasnt made public knowledge to some extent.

I've only started watching this series (watched till ep4).
Nice series Very Happy

I regret not watching it earlier.
It'll take quite a while before I catch up to the current ep hehehe

anyway, I've never watched the old/previous series, will I miss out on the plot?

Loved macross Zero, so i'm really happy to see that being tried to make connections.

Will make it very easy to understand that sheryl and Ranka have the legendary shrine maiden blood in them, aka the reason why their songs affect the living, both life beings and natural sources, around them.

Also i think the upcoming episode will finally make a true connection to the birdmen ancients, which seems to have some similarities with the Vajra.

My guess is that boy is related to (son, grandson, or further) Sara and Shin.

Never really know what happend to Sara and Shin, Sara being a true shrine maiden (bloodwise), who with her voice could "command" the legendary ancient birdmen to either be harbringer of death/destruction or life/creation.

I guess the ending of Macross Zero is going to play a role in how, the upcoming episode is played, or i hope so, since i want to know what happened to them, Sara and Shin, heh.

now that was a bit of a narutoe-ish action right there...

ok so now watching macross zero before frontier becomes mandatory for new fans... but id still recommend watching at least the old movie(do you remember love) just to soak up on some real macross lore*, also since there is no "macross" in 'macross zero'.

I haven't seen zero, but I was under the impression that the main reference was that the movie being shot was from the events of Macross Zero. Is there anything else that might be significant that I'm missing?

the fact is, the creators of macross frontier decided to give sheryl the surname of "nome". They knew that selecting such a surname would induce speculation about possible relations between sheryl and characters in macross zero.

It would be a strange decision to select "nome" as sheryl's surname and then leave it down to coincidence rather than selecting the infinite number of other surnames they could have chosen. This point is further emphasised by their decision to directly address macross zero's storyline last episode.

Of course, it's possible that they chose the "nome" surname simply to induce speculation without the intention of ever addressing a connection, but as i said, it would be a strange decision.
