Anyone that says "you're welcome" (sincerely, not sarcastically) is a douche. Anyone that says "excuse you" (not bless you) after you sneeze is also a douche.

I don't get why. Maybe it's just me?

He's saying he has a pet peeve for that stuff and is asking if anyone feels him.

Perhaps they just sound like douches. That doesn't make them one.

Yeah, they are pet peeves, but, "you're welcome" is something, better left unsaid, and "excuse you" is just rude.

I don't get why.
Am I the only one?

you : thanks
i : you are welcome
you : dude, you try to piss me off after helping me?
i : wtf?

dude, you aint normal, i guarentee that...

but i agree with 'excuse you' as something rude, which make me not norml as well...

sorta...

Out of curiosity, what if the person didn't say 'you're welcome', but instead said 'sure, no problem'?

Well if you sneeze and someone says excuse you, they are obviously being rude, so I agree with you there. But when it comes to you're welcome, or no problem, or anything of the sort, I think it is better to say it than not. I always enjoy hearing someone say you're welcome after I thank them, though I don't hold it against anyone who doesn't say it.

lets see

when learning english i was tought that the answer for "thank you" is "you're welcome", in every institue and in every school they teach you the same

in spanish "thank you" is "gracias" (literally translated "graces" like a blessing) the answer is "de nada" a close literal translation is "it was nothing".

so, if "you're welcome" and "de nada" are the same answer for a thanks, then whats the problem??? i dont get it.

also, do people really say "excuse you" when you sneeze??? it is indeed rude. i was tought to say "bless you"

what happened to manners???

edit:

what the heck means douches???

That what I was thinking. It is a polite way and I never was pissed off.
Some people say "damn you" even in jokes and many people don't get irirtated, but I do.
Maybe some people misunderstood it with something else.

you : thanks
i : you are welcome

no problem right?

now lets take a look at this example

you : thanks
i : YOU ARE welcome

for a some people, evn good manners are perceived as a bad one, which cant be helped..

ne? i found in mine smthn about vaginas and i said oxO'' WTF!

Quote:
you : thanks

my, isnt that rude?

i understand it is rude just by saying "you are" and ommiting the "welcome", but who in the world would just tell you "you are" when someone thanks you???

and i dont know any other asception of the word "welcome", aside from a greet when person comes to your house, that could piss someone off.

why would people get mad with manners??? there must be something wrong in their minds.

hum.....so its a slang huh??? pretty weird xD

It's...common american (and canadian?) slang, so I guess I wouldn't be surprised for you to find it strange.

You see it used all the time in South Park...
