Good production values, mature themes, unusual characters, kick-ass fights, the ultimate femme fatale... MASSES of fanservice and blood (kids definitely shouldn't be watching this). You'd think this would be a great anime. Hmmm, I'm not convinced yet.

I like the fact that morality is much greyer in this anime than the black and white nonsense we're usually fed, but having said that, it's difficult to empathise with a main character who, to all intents and purposes, doesn't give a damn about anything - including herself - and therefore it's difficult to really get into Mnemosyne on any kind of emotional level. Though, maybe I'm jumping the gun on this and not allowing her enough time to develop. After all, there's so much we still don't know after only one 45 minute episode.

Another gripe is that, in spite of its unusual characterisation, the main antagonist in the first episode was all too cut-and-paste. Plus the work she was doing was straight out of a B-movie horror flick...

Like I say, I'm not convinced yet. It was enjoyable enough. What did other people think?

The 1st episode seemed to be a good episode to me. Now that I got the feel of what this anime is like I'm looking forward towards the next epi.

wow, ive been wanting to see this ever since i saw the preview, and it certainly did not disappoint!

Heh, maybe I'm being too harsh then. It's definitely one of the more interesting anime series out so far this year. Whether that translates into something I can really say is a top class anime... well I'll just have to wait and see.

Is it just me, though, or does Mimi have really unhealthy looking legs?

Yes, There is a sub in veoh...but only for veoh tv...which sux...

should be awhile before we see the next ep coz its an oav, anyways i felt a slight air of similarity to ROD(just a teensy bit) mebe coz of the retro feel, and i like the little things theyve done to make it really seem like the 90's.. from the title i got a few ideas where the story was based upon.

Next ep. should be due out 2nd of March, so probably mid-march for subs. Not sure what the release schedule for the other four eps will be.

[EDIT] Indi, watch the office sequence at around 4 minutes and 40 seconds in, when Mimi walks towards the desk holding the bottle. Her legs look like oddly positioned sticks...

Odd animation? Or extraordinarily emaciated legs?

Or neither. You tell me.

I got lured into this anime only by the fact Mamiko Noto was the lead character... and yeah it's of a genre (lol mature) I don't watch often... so I found it refreshing more than anything. And Rie Kugimiya playing non-tsundere character was super moe IMO.

Lol I didn't realize it was 45 mins long, I was like 'wow this 20min episode feels really long'

mel --> her legs do look a lil too thin there right? I think it might just be odd animation... maybe ...

I'm looking forward to the next one ^^

This one goes to show Mamiko Noto is much more versatile than some skeptics consider her to be.

I'm not too keen on putting fanservice and gore together, but the show seemed a little interesting, and there's a star-studded cast here (Rie Kugimiya, Rie Tanaka, Mamiko Noto, Akira Ishida).

Looking at the huge, dark mass with reddish veins and the 'bubbles' that apparently only Rin can see so far, the first episode was nicely done by leaving just a few hints here and there regarding Rin and her mysterious antagonist 'Apos'.

While the entire episode was almost like a typical sci-fi investigation short story, it wasn't too bad. How Rin ended up back in bed after the first scene was unexplained, though, as was how she escaped the locked room. Other than these few gripes, it looks promising.

lol..i've been left a lil confused after the first episode but that's all good...i think....

^.^ just have to wait for the next episode to come out...hopefully it'll explain it a lil more...

O.O the first scene was pretty cool...i didn't even expect something like that to happen...though i didn't know what to expect from the start...left me a bit confused after too...

But this anime is kinda interesting I actually liked this first episode.
