Just got my iPod Touch a few days ago from Apple. This is the very first iPod I owned. It is quite ironic that an anti-Apple like me decided to purchase this gadget. I have been holding back purchasing any iPod due to the main problem that iTunes is needed to transfer songs to the iPod. I have been fans of Creative MP3 due to their easy drag-n-drop transfer.
But once I saw the potential of Touch, I decided to try to give it a go. So far, I have not felt any tinge of disappointment in getting this amazing gadget. In fact, I am typing this message using my iPod. Another neat thing is that I got my nick and title printed on the back of my iPod (Jsy3k Cute Girls Lover =P).
The only main problem that I am experiencing now is that I can't install any third party apps unless I jailbreak this guy, but doing that will void the warranty...
Anyways, two days is still too young to explore any gadgets to their full potential. I will need to do more research on this.
So are there any iPod Touch owners in this forum? Any fun things that you could share with us? _________________ Innocent Tranquility

I'm don't own an Ipod Touch, coz I have me sexy lil red nano already. But yeah my friend got one not too long ago and I have to say it is a very cool gadget xD ... and yeah he's hacked his already after spending days on it though, he put like Gameboy games and PS games on it its great for sitting through lectures x9 _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!!

Ah~ So he did jailbreak his Touch.
I will be trying to jailbreak it soon, but will do more research and asking around my friends who are familiar with it.

I, too, have been avoiding all this iPod fanaticism for as long as I could, but I had to come to grips with the changing technology. I finally got one (well, my mom got it for me since she has points at our local casino, heh heh). I figure I'll need a portable music player for when I go to Japan and I'd probably be too embarrassed to walk around with a CD-player, haha.
I have yet to touch it since it's still at my mom's place, so all I'm hoping is that all the songs I already have burned on my CDs will transfer nice and neatly. Hopefully there's like no "authencity code" or something similiar that will block me. Anyone know if that's something that exists? Since I purchase this from Apple directly, they said that they have such service free-of-charge when you buy any iPod products, so I just used that service. I am not too sure whether it is any different in the US.

I am not sure whether you can transfer those MP3 directly from the CD to your iPod. You may need to transfer those to your PC before doing the transfer to your iPod using iTunes. _________________ Innocent Tranquility

I have one of the oldest Ipods out there. Mine is the one from back when the spin wheel was just for volume and scrolling, and there are other buttons on the top to play/stop, skip forward, skip back, and go to the menu. Surprisingly, most people who see my ipod seem to love it, and say they prefer the old model to the newer ones. They're also surprised it still works i guess lol.
I'll probably end up getting a newer model eventually, but for now this one works just fine for me. Anyway if you want to use your Itouch to its full potential, yea, hacking it is probably the best way. Too bad it voids the warranty... I'm on your side, praying nothing goes wrong with it!

probably not... I don't think the CD speed would be enough to match the uplink-cable speed. I'll have to do it how you said it... download the songs from the CDs to the C drive, then upload it to the iPod through the E drive.

that seems to be similar to what I've noticed from talking to others, as well. The new models are TOO small... the iPod Nano that i got is microscopic... I'm so afraid of losing it somewhere, especially while walking down the street.
Speaking of which, anyone know a good place to buy cases? There is no such thing as perfect casing. In the end, casing preference differ from people to people.
There are definitely 3rd party casings out there, but not too sure where you can get those in your region. I have mine from a shopping mall, and I am pretty much satisfied with it. Got myself a "condom" casing for my Touch. _________________ Innocent Tranquility
