Well, it's an anime with Vampires; so we have a lot of originality right there. But I heard the manga was really popular so gave it a try and so far it seems interesting (liked the main character) though it definitely could go either way.
I have to mention that I absolutely hated the font Shoku-dan used for their fansub. More than once I had to pause to read the subs.

I have to get me hands on the manga for this to see what is up...
in any case the anime seemed nice... though that is just the first episode....
The character designs were nice... nothing much else to go on though...
will keep watching... _________________

I watched the first episode today. For some reason, while the characters and setting seems a bit... used, it makes me feel like this is going to be one of my favourite animes this season.
I'm kind of intrigued about this "Zero" character. He seems shrouded in mystery, especially at the end of the first episode.
I will definately be keeping an eye on this anime. It just seems worth it ^___^ _________________ [img:500:100:c4fd14f873]http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1606/kirbysigcopyou0.jpg[/img:c4fd14f873]

I'm going to try to watch this, but after reading a good portion of the manga, its going to be tough. There are so many things about this story that to me are like nails on a chalkboard. The girl is an idiot, the vampire guy is a jerk, Zero was pretty much the only character I liked. Apart from the characters, the story has so many flaws its painful to read.
I hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone. If you haven't read the manga, you don't have any preconceived notions. I'm going to hope that the anime turns out better then the manga does, so that maybe I'll actually enjoy the story.
An yeah, Shokudan sucks. Hopefully another group will put out good subs. |

Very funny, I feel the very same way about this series. I've heard good things about the manga, never got around to starting that ~ thought I might as well start witht the anime first. Studio Deen should be able to pull this off.
There's just something about Vampire Bishies with sexy seiyuu's (Minoru ie Zero ftw) that draws me to them xD ooo also can't wait till Kana Ueda's character get s a bit more air time
edit: haha realzied Kana Ueda plays Yori-chan (the best freind) ... didn't even realize it was her ... too used to her genki 'Yumi-ness' xD _________________ Get ready to vote for who you think is the Sexiest Anime Character!! |

from the OP i had thought that this is one of those things i definitely wont be watching(totally cliche with the kind of op song chosen too i like the ED tho ), but im glad the characters arent overly too serious about being vamps and stuff.. i mean first impression i got was a "vampire highschool host club"
anyways i remember reading a few chapters of the manga bfore didnt really caught my attention then, kinda tired of the trying to be dark dreary genre.. but maybe ill give it another go.. nah ill stick with the anime for now. _________________ [img:400:237:866f672f5a]http://www.geocities.com/bktabz/mari_boya.jpg[/img:866f672f5a] |

| I recommended this anime to a friend of mine exactly because it reminded me of Ouran. I don't know... maybe it was something similar to what was mentioned by Kimmie-chan, "Vampire Bishies". This would probably be the first anime I've watched with vampires, and I'm interested in seeing how it turns out. |

The first episode was pretty good! (I didn't read the manga)
I liked the art and the ending. Can't wait to see the next episode. |

I finished reading all of the Vampire Knight Manga I could get my grubby little hands on (and sacrificed the majority of my night reading it). I Want More.
And it would be nice if the anime continues on the "good track" that it began on. So faithful to the manga... _________________ [img:500:100:c4fd14f873]http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1606/kirbysigcopyou0.jpg[/img:c4fd14f873]

Watched first episode today and was interested enough to continue. Right of the bat it seems a few of the characters have that typical "mystery" lost, defensive puppy feel to them (not a bad thing, but not a good thing).
I think its pretty obvious what Zero's problem is, especially when you take the tablets and the end scene, sit down and think about what the story seems to be about. Though I could be wrong.
Good start to a hopefully good show. |

Just watched ep1. and yeah, interesting anime. somewhat diff from generic vamp anime and Zero's history is very intriguing
and the ending is also very complementing to the series---have a Gothic feel (kinda similar to Ali Project )

Yeah, but R+V had the potential to be bad in a good way, after the first episodes. Sadly it just turned out bad in a bad way.
I wasn't overly impressed with this, it seems like I've seen all of the characters before, and while it's a fairly interesting idea, it still isn't original enough (or well written enough) to grip me. Not that there's been anything particularly gripping coming out so far this year. A shame after last year's anime triumphs (Baccano, Dennou Coil, Serei no Moribito, etc, etc...), but it seems 2008 is fast becoming a year devoid of standout titles. This new season doesn't seem to be shaping up into anything likely to change that trend.
So this is probably the best of the bunch so far. So I'll have to keep watching, I guess... |
