fair>> the problem is the nonsense he says doesn't really inspire or make us go... THAT IS COOL!!!... its just annoying and egocentric...
at least that is how it is for now... he is more of a naruto than a kamina IMO...

And he is a more annoying version as well. (there are times when I do consider Naruto as "cool"....Black Star is pure brat.

| Watched the epi 3 raw earlier in the week, subbed version available now. Death the Kid is just so crazy cool. And I love Patty. Absolutely no fear. |

Death the Kidd is cool . And I love his attitude more. His obsession with Symmetry is just so hilarious (however, I felt that they should have thrwon in somewhat more actions while finishing off the Pharoah)
they toned down the fanservice... ...their clothes werent ripped (like in the manga)

episode 4 could have been better.. but they still have time to make it up in my eyes.
I decided to pick the STUDD of this anime. I hope it wont be a disappointment to watch. |

| Ep 4 was mildly disappointing. The fighting wasnt as good...hope it's just this ep. Having read the manga, I highly anticipate the fight on the next ep. |

About Death the Kid:
Unlike the previous posters I find him the weakest character in the show. I think they push the whole obsession about symmetry a bit too much. Everything's a bit too repetetive actually. I mean just look at Episode 4 with the Zombie Teacher or Black Star as well, even though he's not as bad as Death the Kid.
Despite that, I must say I enjoy the show so far, especially how it's animated. |

Yes, I agree, but as I said, I like for how funny his obsession is.(never said anything about his chrac dev)
This is after all shounen, cant expect too much charac dev.
Besides, I think it's more on "contrast". Kid's supposed to be the strongest among the three. His obsession "prevents" him from getting too many screen time, "stealing the show" in fights, thus able to have more conc. on B.Star and Maka/Soul . Yes, weird rationale, but so far, thats how I see it. (esp after reading the manga) |

I would agree with kev in that the focus of the show is not on death the kid so therefore they made that very hindering fault on him so he won't steal the show from what is suppose to be centered on the development of Maka and Soul...

I don't find it very weird, it actually makes alot of sense to me. Didn't see it that way, although I must say I think it could have been made better than him using the word symmetry in every two sentences he put out. :/ |

Dont worry, This only the "set-up" Havent even gotten to the main fight yet. Shant elaborate too much ( coz I dont wanna be a spoiler)

anyway ep5 ! The ep I've been waiting for ! Not bad...but really, the fighting wasnt as good...wished they actually extended the fight abit...

Yup, in every shounen theres got to be the eccentric sensei.
Just as how Naruto's got Kakashi, Bleach's got Kisuke, Soul Eater's got Stein ! though he seems to be the more extreme ver of Kisuke XD
