i've read up to chapter 52: Split Secong. i luuuuv this manga it's so cool but i don't really know how to describe the genre cause it's kinda mystery and suspense and action and loads of other things, which is part of the eason it's so good. to anyone else whose read up to chapter 52....do you think raito is going to get the death note back and continue being kira and do you think ryuuku will come back, he's cool Very Happy

considering the plot right now, it seems as if there would be no more plot after the "current" kira is captured.

i'm aware of those who wish for Raito to re-assume the role of Kira, and i must admit, it HAD been much more interesting with two smart@sses gambling with each other. but as it is now, Raito is still deeply suspected of being the "original" Kira, which he was. furthermore, he has done everything he can to erase that guilt ever since he lost his memories, by exposing what "could have" been his plans if he WERE kira. that makes it all very predictable for both the readers, and the characters in the story, if the author decides to make Raito kira again.

therefore, although the plot was more spellbinding in the period before Raito forfeited the role of kira, it would not necessarily be better for Raito to regain the role. and it's kind of contradictory now if the author decides to create another new character who is even smarter than raito and L, to keep a stimulating plot going on.

although there is a little glitch right now, being that misa (she's pretty cute. wouldn't you want a cute pantyhose-and-miniskirt-wearing japanese model to be crazy over you?) has regained her deathnote.

all in all, up until the current kira gets caught, it's very interesting indeed. the dialogue could as well been that of a novel, although it wouldn't have the same effect as if there had been no pictures and expressions to act them out.

i liked misamisa in the beginning. she's kinda annoying now...

i like how L holds the phone

how come greedy-kira's eyes went freaky once he traded? misa's eyes looked normal when she had em...

From the way Light (Raito, if you prefer) has been questioning what he would do if he had Kira's power, my guess is that he will once again possess the Death Note, but this time will not become Kira. Before, it was a coming into power that he didn't completely understand or believe. In a short time, L was on his case and he felt he couldn't just stop. Now that his memory's been erased, he has been able to observe the situation from a detached perspective. I don't think he would go back to being Kira unless he were to somehow regain his old memories.

yeh i pretty much agree with everything you said but i wonder how this manga wll end if raito doesn't become kira again and how anyone could ever be any smarter than raito and L. misa is cute (as you said) but since she forfeited the death note she became a bit ditsy, which i didn't much like and her style of clothes have changed, i'd prefer the smart slightly crazy homosidal kira-misa any day Very Happy

haha, i was beginning to wonder why you posted so much.

i am positive that raito will never regain his old memories. for as far as i'm concerned, i haven't seen the apple-eating shingami (what's his name? i forgot. d@mn it) since raito forfeited the deathnote. and i do not think that the same event that occurred to misa would occur to raito, since misa's shingami is actually biased, as opposed to raito's indifferent shingami.

although i've been wondering; what if, after the current kira is captured alive (assuming that he does get captured alive), L forces him to blurt out the secrets of the deathnote? and what if, under those circumstances, L decides to try to expose his "unbelievable lies" by touching the deathnote himself?

THAT would be interesting. not only would L have Kira's powers (not assuming that he'd use them), but Raito would also be convicted with sufficient evidence from L. the question is, how can L convince everybody else that Raito WAS in fact Kira, if something like this DID happen? one hypothesis would be that everybody would have to be notified of the existence of shingami.

i'm thinking too much. i should get a life.
