a deathnote anime would be cool, but it'd mostly be just talking, with a few violent scenes. so as much as i want one, i dont.
I think there already is a Death Note anime in the works. I don't remember hearing anything else about it, but the rumors seemed pretty solid.
If you're interested in comparing the licenced manga to scanlations you could go to www.stoptazmo.com and download their death note chapters. That way you can see it for yourself. I would do it too, but I don't own any Death Note volumes so I can't compare them. _________________

Anyways, the latest chapters were interesting and galling....interesting because it looks like things are coming to a head between Near and Light. Galling because that bastard Light is one step ahead AGAIN. I swear to god, if that idiot Near pulls a L and decides not to go with a backup plan in case he fails in his battle of wits with Light (ie. hiring a sniper or hitman to kill Light), I am going to go mad.

Sadly no. It was somewhere around the anome forus here if I recall, but that is all i can remember.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If Near has no backup he's gonna be one big flop. So far he has performed to L-esque standards, but he has to do better than that if he wants to beat Kira. I haven't figured out any preparations for when he sees Kira, so if he has any they will sure be a surprise. _________________
Actually the only think that I remember that started a rumor about the anime is when a picture was taking from a FMP: TSR episode that showed for a brief moment, someone who resembled L on a bike and 3 other characters that resembled Light, Misa, and the Chief ( Light's dad).
Well I cant beleive Mello, Takada and Matt, all died in chapter 99. It just tells me that Light might be the victor in the Near/Light fight.

Well, I couldn't get any confirmation whatsoever on a Death Note Anime, but I did find an article in Anime news network about two Death Note Live Action Movies. The first one is supposed to come out in June and the second one in October.
Personally, I'm not to thrilled at the prospect. I would rather see an anime movie made out of Death note rather than a Live-action movie. Seeing the characters in the flesh would probably be to bizarre for my tastes.
Anyway, can anyone confirm this? Animenewsnetwork has been wong before... hasn't it? _________________

I'd think that the plot is too complicated for it to be contained in just two movies. *shrug*. Well, we'll have to see how the creators fare adapting this one. I kinda look forward to seeing the Shinigami and their world. That would be really cool. I wonder if Near and Mello wiould be included in the Movie. Probably not since the Mello part is a bit too complicated. Anyway, I'd rather see L go all the way through this time. _________________
LOL, they will not make an anime yet... according to the true news it will be a movie (real actors) so i already got the triler if you still doubt about it... if you request it i will post it. _________________ the true is always there...keep looking for it...

Wow, I have to quote that for emphasis. How they would portray the shinigami are anyone's guess and character casting would be awkward as well.

Just a guess on my part, but I think that they will focus solely on L and Light in both movies. Like you, I believe there is way too much content to get Near and Mello in. How the movies play out is anyone's guess, but I think the first movie ends in a cliffhanger and the 2nd will be the conclusion (unless of course, the studio making the film decides that they can make a profit by making a 3rd movie. If that happens look for Light to come out with a victory somehow in the 2nd film with L/N/M coming back in the 3rd....Otherwise, I see L winning)

Wasn't that clip slipped in there as a tribute to Deathnote? I do remember seeing a screenshot of that and a thread about it on this site too.

Thanks for the links. That teaser didn't really have much substance to it (Just light standing around while holding an apple and the Death Note), but it was kinda cool. At least it really didn't look like some random cosplay dude was Light. For some reason I had that idea stuck in my head. Now, is it just me or that guy totally doesn't look like a highschool student? I suppose that if Light were a real person he'd look like that, but I expected him to be younger. Although I must admit that I am really lousy at judging people's age based on looks so I could well be waaay off.*shrug*. This movie could be interesting, after all. I'll look forward to the bootlegs!!! _________________

Yeah, I was surprised that they did all of that action in just one chapter. I can't wait to see what happens in the next one.
