Apparently there is no topic on just the Akatsuki members so I'm going to start one. Don't lock it please... haha.

I am so confused when it comes to the Akatsuki members. Now my source tells me that the leader of the group has finally been revealed in the manga. Pein. Apparently he is Jairya's student and even kills him

I started this as just an FAQs since I don't read the manga because I figured this would be easier. Could someone post a list of all the members and what powers they have revealed so far. Could someone explain this Pein guy and the woman by his side and what relevance she has in it.

Pain has six bodies and each bodies represent one person Jiraiya met in his journey, Jiraiya tried to uncover the secret but it is not yet revealed
so it is quite confusing at the moment.

Note, the true leader of Akatsuki is Uchiha Madara
Otherwise known as Tobi
Hi uses the Mangekyo sharingan in its complete form.
However, itachi does not. Because you will turn blind if you use it to much, and the only way to be able to see again is to steal the sharingan of the closest person to you

I do wonder what this is doing here since it's more manga orientated. Anyway as v-boi said they're both former students of Jiraiya which means the girl is also one of his students. She uses paper while Pain has something called rinnegan or something, also an eye technique which I can't remember what it did. Though he seems to have split his mind to reside in 6 different bodies all linked together. Each have a specialty for example defense.

basically pain has one of the 3 eye techniques. sharigan byakugan and rinnegan and rinnegan according to Jiraiya is the strongest eye. i think Rinnegan allows the user to use any ninjutsu. Those 6 bodies can communicate with each other and Pain can see through 6 pairs of eyes which can utilize them in battle both offensively and defensively . Every body has different abilities, 1 can summon various creatures, another can heal and another one can absorb damage.

Tobi aka Mandara is the founder of Akatsuki but now Pain is the leader of Akatsuki
