Living Vicariously through anime

I found it odd that when I watch an anime, it takes my mind off of real life. Not saying that real life is always bad, but it can be challenging at times. Sometimes, I'll get stuck in the middle of watching an anime series that I might skip working out or leaving on time for an event or even putting off certain responsibilities just so I can try and finish an episode.

Why?

Maybe its because reality can be so redundant, so limited, and through anime and even movies, you can exaggerate that reality with imagination. Sometimes, I feel so trapped in what we can do and maybe I do use anime to escape. It sucks that sometimes the highlight during the week (bc the weekends are always fun for me) is watching my weekly episodes of Bleach, Naruto, and Code Geass 2. But once I finish all of them, its like dammit!

Maybe its just a personal opinion but why do we like anime so much? And do we live vicariously through it in order to escape or is it just for simple enjoyment? Share your throughts please.

for me, i watch anime just because i like the cute characters of anime and that a lot of animes have decent/very good plots.

i don't know how would i react if something weird happens to reality that is very like those that happens in the movies/animes.
