This one is supposedly based on a horror/mystery doujin visual novel of the same name.
The first episode started out with a disturbing scene of the main character beating two girls' bloodied bodies with a baseball bat.
The series just has very weird vibe to it. I think the murder mystery theme contrasted too much with its school romance comedy like art style. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]
watched ep 1 and it was pretty weird. You got the intese beating in the start then follow up with the school romance type theme, then go into the murder mystery type at the end. Have to watch ep 2 see if it'l make more sense.
from what it looked like the 2 girls in the begining that the guy was beating are 2 of the main characters in the anime. The chick that drew on his face for losing the card game and the girl that's into the junkyard stuff.

This series has a surprisingly high profile voice cast. It was a surprise to hear Nakahara Mai, Yukino Satsuki, and Tamura Yukari in a series I never heard of before. It was great seeing Yukino Satsuki in yet another feisty school girl role, with her tendency to overshadow every other female voices.
Other than the voice work, I didn't see much potential from this episode. It didn't intrigue me too much, but I'll stick with the series for now. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]
only saving point would be with what really happened at the dam, but I really hope they dont spread that over an entire season. Possibly the dam event was just a top layer of something more interesting.
I agree with what you said first silverkitsune. Judging from the character design, colours alone, I never would have suspected this to be a murder/mystery title. And supposedly, it's based from an amateur but popular computer game of the same genre.
The first episode actually had a load of comedy input. There were a lot of distorted "funny" facial expressions from each character, but they still input some mystery into it.
From the OP and ED, they give such an ominous feeling, but I didn't see it in the first episode. But that's just the first episode, near the end, it looks to be more horror. More to what it claims, which is good. Can't forget the opening scene though, it was quite horrid, hehe. But that kinda gets ya to watch more, see what really happened.
I read around, and the story is about an incident at the dam, there's the severed arm they still can't find. And the one culprit. The incident that occured that one time that year, re-occurs every year.
I think it was okay, I love the OP. The comedy kinda downplayed the intensity of it all. But I get a feeling that it'll be purely mystery/horror later on.

This show has a harem full of lolis, including a character which reminds me of nanoha (from magical lyrical girl nanoha)
But all those cuteness sprawl into some kind of mystery and thrillers. The nice timing of BGM which abruptly stopped when that guy asked about the past gave it a very chilling situation. Looks like the animation was compromised by the story, wonder what will turn out next.
Also: Eiko of I've done the OP, no wonder the OP is so good.
And: The preview too, gave that suspense in it... _________________ ...

I'm not sure if I can take this show seriously... on the one hand the char designs and colours are cliche quite mahou shoujo, but on the other hand it seems pretty gorey...
The first episode had a creepy atmosphere to it. Mostly because of that gruesome start.
And then they suddenly jumped to cute smiley faces and started throwing jokes at your face. It worked suprinsingly well, because that chilly atmosphere came back every time he asked anything about that dam.
+ There was just something wrong about that kid carrying a huge butcher knife with her
btw. What does "koro ni" mean? The full name is something about those bugs crying. Or have I translated it altogether wrong? _________________ ~Everybody says that I am evil, but that's not true.

Koro means "moment" or "time".
I think it means "the time when Higurashi cries".
Higurashi is the type of cicada that only cries after dark apparently. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img]

ok... episode 2
That episode scared me a bit. VERY VERY nicely done, they pop out of nowhere, really.
So, the killing occurs every year, eh? on the festivals too. Looks like the photographer bites the dust, and that woman gone missing. And now that guy is in the midst of things now.
But what really scares me is that Rena. DAMN they pulled off that NICELY!! I was taken aback when she dropped that cutesy face and starts going devilish. And when she screams out "That's a lie!" and the effect of the birds, and the circumstances involved... I might having nightmares now.
And if that wasn't even enough, Rena was eavesdropping on him. Although I kinda can guess Satoshi was the one missing, I didn't count on Rena's eavesdropping, really. That one sends a chill down my spine
Next episode preview
I was more interested in the text that was floating than Mion's monologue. And... well
"I don't want" you to skip school?
I don't want you to "transfer out"? (They played it that Satoshi was transferred out)
Koro means "moment" or "time".
I think it means "the time when Higurashi cries".
Higurashi is the type of cicada that only cries after dark apparently.
Thanks.
Holy shite! Rena was creepy as hell, with those eye's of hers and everything. I'm starting to think that maybe bashing their skulls open, with a bat isn't such a bad idea afterall
Just how old is that main-character-guy? Whose name I forgot (Damn I'm so bad with names!) Because it's quite odd how that a police detective went rather far with those gory details how that photographer had died I mean, telling something like that to a kid is quite unconsidered _________________ ~Everybody says that I am evil, but that's not true.

*Shivering*
Hell yea... That was really unexpected, man I was stunt by the sudden change of wind. It gives me the creepy feeling exactly the same when Kaede (SHUFFLE) turn into Demon around ep19. I'm still a little shaking even now... how am i convince when those Bloggers says that this series is the new Elfen Lied... _________________ [img:800:198:5c85a10b1b]http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1347/feenasighk3.jpg[/img:5c85a10b1b]

episode 3
I have expected cutesy turned to creepy moments, but I don't expect that eye, the needle, nor Rena's story about Satoshi. In fact, the first and the third caught me really off-guard
