Just started on this, heard it's quite popular... but so far the animation didn't impress. I'm also a bit surprised at how otakus or akiba addcits would be disliked...
Hope this doesnt become a harem comedy... |

They're not really disliked more like seen as weird or something.

Lol but it seemed like they wont hestitate to chase him out of school... and plus all the hate mail he got... although the hate mail might be due to Haruka... |

Correct me if i'm wrong but is this more like a cherry boy anime? In form of the girls being way too cute and "submissive" ??
If they aren't like that i'll give it a try, just hate those unrealistic and too cute girls, who likes everyone and the rock next to the turd.
However since i liked Clannad i suppose i'm tossing a boomerang into my own face haha. Only one i liked of those "too cute" girls, Nagisa that is.

Same here. The animation quality (and design) seems to be good only for the OP and ED.
And the voice for the girls still annoys me....
Well, still a decent watch though. Not impressive, but still worth watching 
Also, after Haruhi, there seems to be new trend of putting /b/ dance routine in ED/OP |

Okay watched first episode.
DAMN IT!!!
i hoped for something that was almost like school rumble or perhaps Seto no hanayome.
But what i got was what i feared it to be, cherry boy anime....
Main female lead, is the school's "cutest", most popular, very rich, most beautiful, among the most smart, and also very musical girl.... yet so bloody insecure like a closet worm.... WTF?!
Our main dude, very plain (urgh easy to predict the rest....), has glasses, his hairstyle seems... plain as well, oh crap it fits all criteria perfectly.
So now we just need the pretty guys being completely assholes, very dumb, not to mention somehow having zero luck with girls either. Like any cherry boy anime.
Argh i'm sorry for being this angry about this but somehow i was trying to convince myself it could be the next nice comedy romance at least for this month.... Before i even watched it.
I just want another school rumble alike anime badly, since san gakki somehow turned upside down with the release of episode 25 of it.... Instead of brining us to where we left them in season 2. Or at least something more real that you can relate to and have fun with like thinking; "oh yeah so true, damn nice going!" and kinda overdoing it a little, just to make it more funny.
If i insulted anyone who likes this kind of anime, i'm very sorry, just had to get it off my chest. Now i'll try bring myself to watch the next episode and hopefully see that i wasn't quite right about the "criteria".

Well, I don't mind the the maids' voices. Same goes for the main girl character's voice, but her sister... my god... >_< Very high pitched. |

Glad I'm not the only one struggling to like this show. I really enjoyed the first episode, thought it showed a lot of promise. Unfortunately, the more they develop it, especially the more they develop the characters, the less interested I become.
At this point, I don't care for either the male or the female lead. I somewhat like the maids, the the little sister, voice aside was ok as well. But the main characters... |

haha still I find it quite weird that otakus in Japan are being treated that way (in the context of this series at least)

Seconded. After watching episodes 3 and 4, Im kinda disappointed. This is one of the few times in which I didn't laugh at an anime reference/parody (the shana part)
Maybe Hayate no Gotoku has made me increase my expectations of such...oh well...
The only thing that impressed me is the OP. I like the song for the OP  |

damn it!
Now i can't wait for Hayate no Gotoku again, i kinda forgot it so i would be "YAAARRR it's back!" and surprised, when next season starts again.... but now i'm doomed.
With Kevin's and Molenir's displeasure of the latest episodes, i think i can put this anime to rest, at least in my book. Since episode 2 didn't convince me. X_x

Lol, I've forgotten about this thread. otherwise I've could have warned you.
The animation is damn cheap, i suppose that's due to the lack of budget. I didnt care for any of the characters even now, too... but I think I'll continue watching it anyway. |

I kinda like this show, I thought episode 5 was pretty good. Haruka can sometimes be annoying butmost of the time she is endearing in her naivatee. I dont mind ayase and I like his comic relief otaku friend. And I like the transfer student girl that he was always bumping into. I also like all the allusions to Shakugan no Shana, pretty funny, and wasnt that the fat guy from Genshiken at comiket?
anyway I'm not saying its the best show ever, but its not as bad as the previous few posts would make one think. And honestly, this season and even this year has been pretty wack in terms of romcoms. |

| I did rather enjoy 5, 6 and 7. They certainly weren't outstanding or anything like that. But for an hour or so of fun, it was ok. |
