this is my new sketchdump, bet that title caught your attention eh? i always wonder, since my art is technicaly not 'fanart' but art in general, is it really ok for me to post this stuff here? or does it just have to be fanart for anime-ness in general?? ^_____^
anyways, i suppose this is about 1 weeks worth of drawing......each one generally takes about 10-20 mins. i'll post them from oldest to newest and i'll tell you what i want. i want you guys to give me some crits based on what you are continually seeing wrong with my pics. what am i doing wrong most of the time? what needs a little work? what have i finally nailed? i need your help. i need alot of help right now, i'm feeling mediocre because of a comment i got on another website earlier. with you guys giving me these crits, i'm gonna be using them, but i will also be taking a hiatus after that. i wont be posting any art, i feel a nice good period coming on, and i'll be in hard study. enough babbling..........
(some tattoo designs)
(more tattoo stuff)
(i know stuff in this is messed, i fixed some stuff when i colored it)
(first running attempt, been finding myself drawing anime again lately)
(my most up to date. for some reason i find myself liking this one alot. i find i've started fixing some of my recent errors)
anyways, if you've gone through this entire thread, and read eveything, thank you and you are gifted with patience, and if you didn't, well then slow down and smell the roses!...or...something......
I agree the last one is much better than the others ... and it's becuase the actual pose is much more correct than the others ...
many of the other's have proportion/angle issues that take away from the overall image ... i have just recently discovered that you need a good pose for a good pic ... i always wondered why i liked some peoples artwork sooo much and
it was because they had a real talent for making poses that were great and looked very natural

well that makes me happy ^______^
because i had not spent any more time, or effort than i usually do, and i used no refference. of course i shouldn't boast about it, because i should always use refference. but if i'm learning this stuff on my own, it's a good foundation.
i know i'm losing in the FAOTY contest....horribly. but watch out next year

It's more hard work than talent. Some people may be born with a drawing talent but becoming good at it is all about effort
About the last pic - the pose is better than some of the other sketches here but it's not natural. You definitely need to work a lot on the lower half of the body. Also try putting your hands like that while running - it is not natural at all. You have to break them a little instead of putting them in this straight stiff position.
Always do a skeletal frame and/or look for actual poses in photos, etc.

yeah, i knew it wasn't natural, she's almost tripping. and i'm positive i know my drawing still needs a tremendous amount of work. about the effort thing, i try very very hard to improve my drawing, full time. people think i get so much better with each painting, it kinda reinforces what you said.
