*making gif* Jasc animation shop help!

i wann amake a .gif... and so i tried opening an .avi file on jasc animation shop and the i get error:

"Cannot read video data. No suitable video decompressor is available."

If u want to make a animated gif u have to use pics type files like .gif and .jpg and etc not .avi...

here is one of the things i made...i used .gif type & pic and animation shop..

You can use avi files as source and make them into gifs. What happens is the gif program will convert the avi file or the section that you have selected into individual frames. You then edit the image and save it as a gif file.

can try using macromedia's fireworks... i use that to make animated gifs for my webpage, well, through learning html...
