Lets put this way......if it werent for the characters and the title.......they would be two completly different series.......
I personaly am enjoying the anime so much more than the manga.......but dont let that stop you reading the manga.......... |

A good manga, haven't watched the anime yet... (wonder if i ever will...)
I liked the beginning of the manga tho, it got a lot more... what shud i say? intense at the end... anyway I can't say i didnt enjoy readin it.. but anyone else thanm me think the gals boops has a funny look on her? ,D
anyway... i was a little surprised at the end whith her bro an all... |

| i recommend you watch the anime. My opinion is that the manga starts off better, but the anime has a better ending. Yes they have different story lines but the ending for the manga just wasnt done that well imo. neways id defo suggest u read teh manga and watch the anime! |

| someone might have said this before me but i dont have time to read all the posts but y is the anime so different than the manga? i mean it doesnt even follow the storyline remotely. i think the manga was better cause it made more sense but the anime had more drama |

Wow so very different then the anime. Wayyyy too much of this and that though, it got really annoying after awhile
Though I dont like how Natsuki also had a thing for Tate it proved for a good love triangle every once in awhile. I also liked the twist with Takumi that was awesome I didnt see that coming. All in all out of a ten I would give this manga a 7. |

First, seriously... I didn't try to fool you these mai-hime promo are for reals. Actually, i didn't know about april fools until i got fooled recently.

Also if you read the info about mai-hime and mai-otome in wikipedia, it decribes that it inded has relationship between the two stories that mai-otome is the story of a parallel universe to mai-hime. Maybe, that is why it is called mai-zhime.
In addition, I truthly agree with you guys that these series in manga is better than the anime even though they are first made in anime and then adapted into mangas. Don't know why but it is just the way that it is, even thought the original are usually the best... |

Let me tell you this.....that promo "teaser" trailer is a joke.....there isnt going to be a sequel with the My-HiME and Mai-Otome series plundered together.......
I dont know why such a trailer was done....but it fooled many~
Yes there is a similarity between both series....after all...Mai Otome is what would be called a spin-off....from My HiME....
spin-offs dont always follow the mother series......in fact....like Mai Otome....they can be completly be different and have little in common with the mother series.....thought this is usualy rare.......otherwise it could turn off the fans from the original series....which is why fan service is usualy put in....
(no...not fan service as in panty shots and ecchi, the other kind to keep fan interested in a series)... |

I have to agree with the earlier post. The anime and manga only share concept, characters, and name. Otherwise, the perspectives are different, the characters act differently.
