If you were restricted to only watch one - ONLY ONE - anime series for the rest of your life, which series would it be? And why?

Yes I know, this is torture!

edit - sorry, I just HAD to change that subject, it was bugging me, haha (xeno)

For the rest of my life, eh? Well then I'll start collecting multiple lives! Laughing

I would pick The Twelve Kingdoms because it's like a good novel, something I will return to time and time again and will find something new about it that will depend my appreciation of it.

What about you, Himitsu? What would be your torture? Wink

I would choose something long. Even if not all the episodes are good, something that comes off with good meaning and great story. So um...something like Naruto or Inu Yasha that just go on forever. That way when the series repeats you aren't so bored with it....Saikano is good..I just don't think I could watch it all the time everytime. It's too depressing plus it's only 13 episodes so roughly 6 hours. If in eturnity there are still day and nights and assuming you get 8 hours of sleep then you'll basically end up watching Saikano 3 times EVERY DAY

the only one could be hajime no ippo, a very entertaining and funny series, also it has 76 episodes and 2 movies Smile, so i probably would not get tired of it too quicly and then have to quit watching anime

idjota beat me to the punch. Hajime no Ippo for me as well. Great anime, very funny, motivating and entertaining.

I've actually NEVER seen an episode. Which is a very weird occurence for me. I suppose you can't watch em all (though I have seen a damn lot) I dunno I can never stay entertained with sports anime. Prince of Tennis only lasted a couple episodes and Slam Dunk even fewer.

Hmm for me, probably Ranma 1/2, it has 161 episodes, 12 ovas, and 2 movies. So there are many things to watch untill you die, and become a wandering soul and watch/read all the manga/anime you want for the eternity.

For the long animes, I think I'd go with One Piece. It's way addicting and it keeps you constantly watching. And it's going to go on for a while (if it continues at the manga's pace).

Hikaru no Go. It's long, pretty interresting, and I have no clue how to play Go, so after watching the series for a lifetime, I might learn a thing or two, too!

lol, if only we can have multiple lives, like a cat =D

Thanks for asking, I wanted people to reply to get a good idea of what type of series would be best to get back to over and over again. I used this time to think, but still couldn't come up with one. Instead I caame up with three:

Kodomo no Omocha: just because it's really long 100+ episodes and it was an emotional rollercoaster, it was a tear-jerking experience whether it was from the drama or joy of it all. I always rooted for Hayama and Sana's romance, they're characters are the type I love.

Fruits Basket: is filled with lovable characters. It has great cute-comedy and did I mention lovable characters? They really go in-depth to each character for every one of them to be loved. I loved watching Fruits Basket, I laugh every time and every joke even though I'm expecting it. Shigure is the funniest pervert

Rizelmine: hysterically funny. It's full of irony and satirical comedy. No matter how many times I watch it, I think I laugh harder. It is short though, but still very entertaining. I watched it many many times and it still has the same - yet different - impact on me.

But if I were to choose one out of the three, I guess it would be Kodomo no Omocha, since it does have filler episodes you can watch as a separate series, and since it's really long.

I will have to say One Piece. it has parts that will make you laugh so hard, and it has parts that will make you feel so sad. It's got it all.
