I still don't think Nina did it as the MO is so Johan. Also I think she will end up saving detective Suk.
The angle on the mother is interesting. I had not considered that.
However Deiter has not been seen for a time and I'm starting to wonder what happened to him. |

| Dieter was smart enough to realise when Nina was going to split and he made sure that she took him along. |

So what did you think of ep.44? I'm still not sure whether I consider it brilliant or hard to swallow.
Major spoiler:
I was certainly surprised when Johan took off the wig. I guess you can't say that Nina will save Suk now unless she shows up at the last moment, which is alltogether possible knowing the writers. My first reaction was that it was a great twist, but it gets more difficult to believe when I think about it more. The writers of an anime have the advantage of making Johan look exactly like Nina, but in reality you would see small differences that could be picked up by someone who knows both characters from following the show for so long. They are fraternal twins after all.
Still, the writing has been the strength of the series and overall I've found it to be very entertaining and I eagerly await each new episode. _________________ [IMG:119:90:283352dc7f]http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e36/Tank252ca/HoiHoiSanPointing.gif[/img:283352dc7f]Tank252ca |

I guess it all depends on taste, but seriously, do you really want them to change the story so they would have another mayhem anime like the case with Love Hina anime, which I don't even want go there... too frustrating. |

Ummm... because I haven't read the manga and don't intend to. What a silly comment. _________________ [IMG:119:90:283352dc7f]http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e36/Tank252ca/HoiHoiSanPointing.gif[/img:283352dc7f]Tank252ca |

Thats exactly my point though. Other than the OST, Wots the difference in the Comic and the anime?

Im sure youre gonna DL the anime. 200mb. Comic version ---> 5mb. Anime ---> Crappy acting ---> Dissapointment. Comic version ---> Probably more precisely explained. Sometimes the anime version and comic version can have suttle differences, but they mean alot. Thats why id rather read the comic rather than to watch it. From my point of veiw your comment is silly. _________________

As for ep 44:
I suspected something was amiss the moment Nina addressed herself as Anna Liebert. She has not been going by that name for sometime. Then when she stepped into "her" room and there was no sign of Dieter. However I was too slow and did not put two and two together especially since it was already hinted at that the two twins were taught to be one child, that of a female child which suggest that Johan could role play as his sister. Hence I was just as surprised when the wig came off.
Too bad for Suk, looks like he is going to end up dead if either Tenma, Grimmer or Nina don't step in to save him.
However I would like to see the moment of truth confrontation between the real Nina and Johan's Nina.
Wonder if we will ever get to see what is on the tape as the writers have been dangling that carrot in front of us and it seems important.
I agree with you Tank252ca, the writing for this series has been great. Same to be said with the storyline, pacing and character development. |

That's because the author refused to have an anime created until he was done with the series. That's what is kind of annoying of Bleach, Naruto, Beck, etc. is that they aren't over so they must have needless filler episodes to slow the progress until the manga is far ahead enough.
There hasn't been any deviation, which is awesome because the author is an absolute genius. 20th Century Boys is my favourite novel. No, not manga, but novel. I don't know whether its tied or better than Ender's Game. |

Now that's an argument that I can have a friendly discussion over. Much better than "Why bother". I agree that mangas can be more enjoyable at times. I never got into the Inu Yasha anime but have all of the translated manga. Same can be said of many movie adaptations.
I have enough paper material to read, so no time to d/l and read more manga, but I'm surprised that you found the acting crappy. How far did you get into anime? Being a murder mystery I think it's natural that the acting may be a little more dry compared to most anime, but all of the major characters and voices have fit so far. The less dramatic filler pieces have never lasted too long so the level of tension is maintained fairly well. It's hard to find a good serious anime drama right now so Monster has been a very welcome addition. _________________ [IMG:119:90:283352dc7f]http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e36/Tank252ca/HoiHoiSanPointing.gif[/img:283352dc7f]Tank252ca |

Ah, thanks PolyGuru.
I was surprised when Nina gave that name but didn't put two and two together.
One thing I love about this show is that the writer leaves so many possibilities open so you can't fully predict which direction he'll go in. I always look forward to the next episode. _________________ [IMG:119:90:283352dc7f]http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e36/Tank252ca/HoiHoiSanPointing.gif[/img:283352dc7f]Tank252ca |

Episode 45:
So Suk is now a fugitive!
Is it me or does the fake Nina now look more like Johan then the real Nina?
Wonder why Grimmer felt sick when he heard the tape? Think his reaction was way too strong for it to be just the tape.
I wish they would just let us listen to what is on the tape once and for all! Argh! The wait is killing me!
