Alright just some info about Monster
But what do you think people? Who do you think should be the cast?
from movies.about.com:
Japanese Manga Comic Book Series to Become a Feature Film
LOS ANGELES (April 6, 2005) - New Line Cinema has acquired the feature film rights to "Monster," the fastest-selling Japanese manga comic book series ever, from legendary author Naoki Urasawa.
"Monster" is a fast-paced psychological thriller that tells the story of a young doctor who saves the life of a little boy - only to find a few years later that the life he saved was that of a brilliant killer. The doctor must then track down the young killer and solve a larger conspiracy.
"Monster" has previously been adapted into an animated Japanese television series and has spawned 18 volumes as a manga series.
“Naoki Urasawa is a phenomenal cinematic storyteller, and we're thrilled to have an opportunity to bring this incredible project to the screen,” said producer Neil Kaplan.
"Monster" is among the most successful comics ever released. It has sold more than 25 million copies in Japan, and also found a strong following throughout Asia and Europe. In addition to "Monster," Shogakukan has produced a variety of books, comic books, animation, films and toys including the popular “Pokemon” series.
Overseeing the project for New Line are production executives Cale Boyter and Magnus Kim.

I'm lazy, so my vote goes for the anime. People will tell you that something is lost in the translation from manga to anime, but I feel like something is added too. I think the music is very tone setting, and it helps to get a feel for the series simply by observing what is happening on the background between scenes. Both are good though, I promise.

Wow, nifty pic. But I think you may be right. All of the really popular animes of this year seem to me to have been a bit week on plot. Bleach and Naruto just don't do it for me in that catagory. Even my favorite anime EVAR (initial d) has let me down in that department. The main feature Monter has is definately the plot. The action certianly isn't it's big attraction, nor is the animation style (which is okay, but not super). But yeah, agree. Still, I do feel they've dragged it on a little long. I hope they don't continue to do that.
