| You can find a couple of dating sims on Newgrounds.com, but they're H-games so it isn't for kids. I haven't tried them so I don't know if they'll inprove your drawing skills or not. If you are trying to get better at drawing you should probably draw reference material stuf from your favorite mange like I did. It helps you gain a better understanding of the way an artist draws their characters and could help as a foundation to build your own visual style. |

Not all dating sims are ecchi, but a large majority are.
Also, I thought that DA MIGHTY PLUM just colored the drawing. Am I wrong here? If he does do his own drawings, I would love to see them because he looks like he could do a great job. |

| DA MIGHTY PLUM draws and then colour his drawings, he is a professional. As for drawing, there are many ways to improve your skill and dating sims provides lots of pictures with backgrounds to practise drawing, practice is the most important thing. |

First of all, thanks for telling me about him. Does he have any works online?
/too lazy to google search
Moving back on topic, you do have a point. However, form what I've seen, some dating games just have a character's illustration pasted on top of the environment so the shading is screwed up, so take that into consideration.
As for the Newground games, I tried the Love Hina one (A lot of the dialogue is out of character although it is a parody...) and I was slightly bored with it and the pay-off after all that hard work isn't worth it in my opinion. Nice art, however |

| Actually, it's not that crazy. The most intricate basic thing you can draw is the human figure, and the games will definately help you with that. Once you master that, you can take that as a base for more unique characters and even creatures. |

| I personally taught myself how to draw through reference material from my favorite anime at the time (which sadly, was DBZ). When I learned that I hated the style, I sorta started my own. I guess what I'm trying to say (and not doing it very well), is that referencing material from somewhere else isn't the best way, since it makes you feel like you're copying. My advice is do what works for you. Dating Sims wouldn't be the way I'd do it though. |
