i really like the creativity in which the author made each character's powers to be. i mean, i never thought that water would be that destructive... considering that one can just murder by sucking out all the water in another's body.
that one guy with multiple powers never ceases to amaze me, though. how come he gets to have so many powers?
and after seeing Rumina get his powers out of nowhere, it made me think that all of us can awaken secret powers, haha. even though it's impossible. but it is a nice twist by the author to make his powers the best out of all. after all, he is the protagonist.
good series, though, including but not only the artwork, the plot, and the theme songs. _________________ ... perfectly ambiguous |

| It was an entertaining series, reminded me a lot of Flame of Recca. Elemental warriors...fighting over a healing girl...heroes getting stronger in no time at all. Unlike Flame of REcca, though, thi sseries didn't make use of its' potential. They never went into detail about why they were forced into the underground...they never make use of the all destructive beast that they were trying to revive. Kind of sad. |

yea, but it'd be kinda hard to fit the criteria with only 26 episodes. so virtually, what you'd be asking for would be for the anime to be longer, since if the beast awakened, they'd have to be saving the world, rather than just the underground civilians. and that should take up a couple more episodes.
i thought they did go in detail about the underground bit, though... i just don't remember, since i watched it so long ago.
ah, well. _________________ ... perfectly ambiguous |

i found this series to be very enjoyable, at least up until the last two episodes
it felt like they just rushed into the ending and didn't really explain any of the backstory |

I agree that the rushing near the end of the anime did ruin it abit. They should have extended the number of episodes by like 4 or more. Thats what i think. _________________ *If it's a dream, I don't ever want to wake up.*

Tokyo Underground had an okay story, but still started quite well. The character design was nice, but the characters themselves were about average. The abusive girl, the timid girl, and the ... average Rumina. Ginnosuke probably stood out the most. Later on, they tend to use their powers too often...but it was interesting to see everyone's power. I really liked the last few episodes at the end, featuring the tournaments, those probably kept me entertained the most. Between were alright, some dramatic events, but nothing to keep my longing interest.
And finally, the ending, which was wide open. No conclusive feel, but nontheless an ending. |

| i agree, the start was good, and i liked the characters for the most part, except the plain jane rumina, he needed some kind of quirk or something unique, he was almost a hibiki tokai-clone. if i could remember her name, i would say that the healer chick was my fave character. i'm a sucker for chicks like that. like many people who started this series, i was curious to see just what the underground was like, but once i realized that this was going to turn into a series where they're chasing the bad guys who have the girl, and it gets dragged out for several episodes, i was losing hope fast. the tournament i thought was too DBZ/YYH-ish, and the doomsday beast...could do better, or weirder, or something. the OP and EP were good, i especially like the EP, real nice and easy. |

| Another anime with rushed ending. I really don't like this kind of anime. It's kinda similar with Flame Of Recca. |
