First of all, make sure you´re with your best camouflage. Second of all, have your thermal goggles equipped at all times (except when there´s no battery), then grab your pistol and go.
I think Snake goes best with his pistol than with the sniper rifle. Try to be the fast as you can to find him, then keep following him and ambushing him. Otherwise use the turn-off-the-game-and-wait-for-a-week strategy.

You can also try to use the AP sensor along with the directional mic this worked pretty well for me when i was fighting The End. Also occasionally it'll rain and if it blocks out the sun The End will "FALL ASLEEP". I manged to sneak up to him while he was sleepin and took a nice picture with the camera

Am i the only person who used the microphone? It saves ur battery and u can find out exactly where he is before going out in the open. Use it right after finding cover in the new area u've just entered. it also helps if ur back is against a wall. use the mike and scan the area. U'll hear the end breathing or talking or whatever he's doing at the time if he's in the area. If u dont hear him he's not in there. its that simple

i actually didnt use the mic or goggles. I was just really really lucky that everytime i encountered him(well almost every time, luckily your health bar doesnt go down that quick^^) he had his back to me and i could snipe at my leisure

I thought that treating the wounds was a very interesting and unique point in this game.

I really like the treating and eating part, but after a while it seemed to be very basic also the snake you look at while treating seemed rather uncaring about any amount of bullets or burn wounds in him, only saw a little film once of him doing the treatment and i liked it a lot but would hae loved to see more little cutscenes like that.

i hate the eating and treating stuff. i waste like 5 minutes trying 2 find food eat it and figure out wats good 2 use 2 cure me

I also used the mic to determine where he was, and went from there. For me, I had a harder time with the little wanna be spider dude.

i played it half way,last time untill when he was succesfully escape from Hollow.....i played the 1st n 2nd also......These are ther best games i ve ever played till now

The Fear is much harder than The End. You don't have to wait for a week, you could just change the PS2 date.
